combining documents in one fax
We had been using bitfax (bitware) with win98 but that program seems to
cause printer problems with windows xp so we're now using the built in xp
fax program.
With bitfax we were able to combine multiple documents (separate files) into
one fax and send it. With the xp fax program, it seems we have to put all
the documents into one file, making sure that each new document starts on a

Sending Faxes through Outlook issue
is it possible to tell Outlook NOT to include the message body as the first
page? I have a client who generates the cover page and (more often than not)
several documents that all need to be included as one fax job. However,
Outlook always sends out the message body in the fax as the first page. ...

Default printer changes at logon
A new PC image has been used at work and every time a user logs onto
the computer the default printer is changed to the lowest printer in
the list.
I have looked about but not found anything that gives a reason for it
happening. It is nothing to do with the printer losing connection, as
it will happen on the MS Document Image Writer from Office if it isn't
the lowest printer.
Printers are...

Turning Windows XP into a printserver on port 9100
Hi there !
I have a tricky point of sale system (Micros) that needs to print to IP
printers.
In order to not have a PC with the client and a printer with a NIC involved
in this, I was trying to find a solution how I can "share" a locally attached
printer from the Windows OS out on port 9100 for the POS Server to be able to
find the printer.
I wasn't able to find anything. Anybody's ...

Cannot Print
I am trying to help a friend with a computer problem. (Neither one of us is
computer savvy.) She used to be able to print with no problem. Now, all of
a sudden, she can't print her e-mails. (She could print other documents,
but not her e-mails.) When she tried to print them, it went to her fax
machine instead of to her printer. So, I did the following to try to fix the
problem:

Configuring IP based printers (remotely)
Hi. Our Win XP PCs print to the IP [address] port of our network printers,
but in order to create a new port locally and add a printer, the user
requires admin rights [which most don't have]. Therefore we have to log them
out and then we log in.
Is there such thing as a MSC applet for printers? This way I can either go
in remotely (as most MSC applets allow) or at the PC changing the MM...

I currently have an issue with a few pc's where the user of the pc changes
their domain password and as soon as they do this, they are then unable to
print. The printers say "Opening" in the "Printers and Faxes" window. This is
only happening under their login and only on this one computer. If they login
to another computer, they are able to add the printer without any issues. I...

how re-enable voice/data modem
The FAX modem in my XP Pro box is on a 2nd line, and it's
used only to receive FAXes. But it "rings" through the speakers
when it receives a call - an intrusion if I'm on the primary line
talking on the phone. So I disabled the modem in "Phone and
Modem Options" in the control Panel in an effort to silence the
ringer. But now, it's status in the "Attached to" column of the
Modems tab in "...
