Windows loops itself when loading?
On boot up windows xp starts to load then goes to a black screen that asks me
if I want to log in using safe mode, safe mode with comand, safe mode with
cd, last known good configuration, or into windows normally. When I select
any of those options it continues to load but goes back to the same screen.
Any Options?...

Disk Performance Tools
Hi
Does anyone know of any tools available for W2K3 that will enable us to
determine what applications/processes are reading and writing to a
logical/physical partition. We have looked at the Server Performance Adviser
but this does not have the ability to drill down to specific partitions. On
our C partition we are encountering occasional average queue lengths in
excess of 80 but d...

Folder Redirection Changed & now problems arise
Hello Folks:
I recently had to change the folders ( and server) that the users were
storing "My Documents" on.
I went to the wizard and changed the folders from \\OldServername\users (a
member server) to \\SBS-New-Servername\users (the SBS server) which is the
default folder for the SBS box.
Then I manually copied over the files and everything seemed to be working
fine, until I ch...

VOIP321 gurgles after new mobo, usb audio problem?
Hi, I have a Philips VOIP321 Dualphone (Skype&PSTN) connected to one of my
USB2 ports. Everything worked just swell on my old HP dx5150(MSI mobo,
MS-7050), until I blew this up (don't ask). I have now replaced that mobo
with an ASUS board, A8N32-SLI Deluxe. The OS took this heart transplant
remarkably well, the VOIP321 unfortunately less so. The sound that I hear
gurgles and slurs. This ...

scandisk will not scan disk
This is another one of my adventures. I downloaded an AVG anti virus program
that disliked my System 32 files IMMENSELY and got rid of them. I copied
most of a Syatem 32 file and got MOST of my tools back--but I can't run the
scandisk off the My Computer properties. Does anybody know which specific
file or files I still need to make it work? I can't see which one I'm

Slow performance
I'm writing this from a remote site, cuz otherwise I'd be up all nite. The
problem with this is, I won't be able to try any suggestions right away. The
system in question is an HP Pavillion a520n running WXP, IE 7.2. From the
time one tries to boot up the system to get a page open is very slow. I've
tried running the Mcafee virus scanner, scan disc, cleared the cookies, temp

Safely remove hardware message keep popping up
I keep getting a message at my Safely remove hardware Icon telling me that I
can remove my CD-ROM drive, but I did not click to stop the device at all.
This happens like every other minute even though I keep clicking it away,
and then another message keeps popping up saying my CD drive CANNOT be
removed, when I didn't try to remove it at all!

maintenance I should periodically perform to keep it in shape. I defrag every

This runs for some time, then is joined by another window, "Document Viewer",
which wants me to install a cd program. I have had HP Printer for some
months; this is a new message also. Ultimately, I have to use the 3 finger

Win XP Running slow
My pc has been running slow for a while now. I've finely decided to speed it
up. On a web site I read that a good way to find problems is to go into
msconfig and hide all the Microsoft files and them disable all the other
files in Startup. This I've done and it seems to have solved the problem (Win
takes about 3 mins to load). Beside my Anti Virus files what files should I
make sure I pu...

Hello,
I've seen lots of pages which recommend different methods to delete the

The most popular methods, even posted by MS, include enabling in the local

or running a script in the system32 folder (pagefileconfig.vbs /delete /VO

These methods are very popular and everybody uses them... but I...
