Recently I have noticed that when I click on an item ie select something there
is a red-dotted line around the selection, this never happened before.

Can't rename folders
For the last couple of weeks, I haven't been able to rename folders. Somehow
I've lost the 'right' or 'privilege' to do so. When I right click on a
folder, the 'rename' option is not there. If I click on the File drop down
menu, 'rename' is grayed out.
Please help. I have tried my best to find something in the Users accounts or
anywhere else to figure out what may have gone wrong.

Suspect ntoskrnl.exe
I could not defrag my C: drive. It just hung at some point and would
not progress. So I stopped the defrag, ran chkdsk C: /r and set it to
run on next reboot. Then rebooted. And it did the long test and found
ntoskrnl.exe corrupt (or on a bad sector) and said it fixed the file and
replaced the bad sectors of data.
So after it reboots, nothing is wrong. The system just booted back ...

Sleepy Windows
Using XP SP3
After a short period of inactivity my XP seems to go asleep. It doesn't
respond to any mice clicking. I usualy have to press Alt-Tab to awake it
before I may continue to work or whatever else I want. I guess it isn't
proper. Why is it happening? What can I do to settle it?
Thanks

Office XP Update: KB837253 FAILED
The above update keeps showing up in my Automatic Updates list. Research has
shown me it is quite old. I don't know why Updates is now telling me to
install this. Each time I try to comply the update fails. There is no
additional help offered if updates fail (all it says is "Update failed" which
is no help at all) and I've searched MS Help & the Community Bulletin Boards

windows explorer suddenly very slow loading files
Hi,
I recently reached a near-full HD episode in my XP and things became
terribly slow.
Besides freeing 3/4s of the space, I've defragmented it, scandisk-ed it
(find & fix errors auto), run full virus/spyware checks (with AVG &
SUPERAntiSpyware) and also cleaned everything with disk cleanup, plus cleaned
the registry (with EasyCleaner & Advanced SystemCare).., and switched to a

software virus. It was installed. We found it, uninstalled it. Access

can now get into the registry but we are still having problems. The
virus is still there.
When we try to use the internet it sometimes redirect our pages. It
will not let us run spybot ...

Access Table Problem
I'm trying to query a table that has a drop down list of information. It
doesn't want to give me that information. Don't know why this table was set
up this way in the first place. Was it to save arrowing across the screen?
Can someone help me with this, if you understand what I'm trying to say.
Thanks!
