Why can't I open file attachments entitled wwinmailnn.dat?
Colleagues have been sending me Word documents which purvey through
Firefox and Eudora as wnmailnn.dat files which I cannot open with Word
(as hey are sworn to be) or any other application.
On my complaint, they have been translating said documents into PDFs,
but I hate to be a pain in this matter.
I think it has to do either with my Eudora settings, or a Eudora bug, or

Good wireless signal - but browser cannot find it?
Hello,
All our PCs are Windows XP and we have a Netgear router which sends out a

We fitted a wireless PCI card into our son's PC to enable him to connect.
It installed fine, connected to the network - and the logo on the taskbar is
showing an excellent strength signal.
But his browser cannot find any connection and displays the error pag...

working offline with offline files while VPN still connected?
Hi!
I'm working remotely through VPN and have to be connected in order to

Some of the synchronized files can't be opened while connected.
Especially Word and Excel-files.So I have to disconnect while working
with those files, but then I can't send/receive in Outlook.
Is there a way to tell Windows XP Pro SP3 to work offline with the

Can I share a windows live skydrive folder on my home network?
I have created an account on skydrive, an online storage site. On my home
network, I have folders that are shared with one pc and a video game system.
It would be awesome if I could mount the skydrive folders onto my network so
that I can access them from my other computers. Is there a way to make those
folders shared folders like the ones on my physical hard drive?

Network slow after Domain join

We are currently setting up an AD and im on my way to join our machines to
the AD. Today we have a netware e-Dir so all of our laptops/desktops has

The problem is that when I join a machine to our new AD it then takes 10 min
for the computer to start the network when booting up. I wait 2-3 min and it

Most everything appears to be going well except that I am unable to connect

no Address Type, IP Address, Subnet Mask or Default Gateway on the Support
tab. Attempts to Ping the router's IP address gets me a 'Destination host

I was reading through a number of articles - as I usually do before asking

I have no LAN connection icon in my Network Connections. 1394 is there but
as I found out in other articles this is NOT a LAN. The 1394 connection tells
me that it's connected at 400Mbps which is strange because currently my
computer is only connected...

Odd networking problem
Student brought her laptop in today to have it looked at. Was riddled with
spyware and the odd trojan. Got rid of that stuff handily enough (I hope!).
Then turned to a problem she had been having previous to the infections, and
which could well be related. In safe mode, everything works as expected.
Network access is fine and can run network tools such as ipconfig, netsh etc.

to make a continuous ping occur faster then once/second? Or is there
another instruction that I can use to send a short message from one NIC to

a sniffer, WireShark to measure the round trip time between each ping and
the response.
