Importing Error
I keep getting an error when I try to import my windows media player clips
(captured from my Sony camcorder to my hard drive). Te error says:
"Cannot import video from (path). An interface has too many methods to fire
events from"
Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it?...

Changing capture frame rate
I am trying to transfer 8mm to digital video and experience an annoying
flicker effect. Upon reading on the internet, it appears to be from my
camcorder capturing at a frame rate of 30 and the 8mm projector at 18 frames
per second.
I want to try streaming the video into the computer and I am hoping that
Moviemaker's capture frame rate can be adjusted to 18 fps. However, when I

Windows Movie Maker preview screen does not play
my windows movie maker 6.0, preview screen does not play in timeline or
storyboard mode. It plays 1 of my two movies ive made but it wont play the
other one. It was working fine and then all of a sudden it just stopped
working. It shows all my pics and video clips in the timeline but it just
wont play when i push play. Can someone please let me know how to fix this
problem....

When changing computers, downloading movie maker project by way of
I had another computer rebuilt, I had made a copy of my windows movie maker
project onto a cd, I copied the project from the cd to my new computer's
movie maker program. I then copied all of my photos to my computer and audio
files , but I still cannot save my movie file. The error is one of more
source files cannot be found, locate the original source file. Is there any

wav on top of wav/'ani' clip
Hi, In WMM, How do you make it so that 2 wav files are combined; so that one
music wav file is playing in the backgound, while the other voice spoken wav
file is playing at the same time. Can seem to make it work.
ALso, I added an 'animated' pic but it only moves a split second then the
next picture starts. If I click to view any animated clip in "my
pictures">Win fax viewer, it moves ...

audio file empty after importing
I have used WMM since 05 and have never had this problem. I am using 2.1.
When importing .wma or .mp3 audio files, after importing, I get an error
message that the file is empty. However, i can play the file, so I know it's
there. I've done a web search and it seems others are having this problem,
but no solution is presented. Is there another string I might have overlooked

WMM 2.6 and 3.0 dvd burning
For some reason I had to get version 2.6 from the MS site after the origonal
program gave me an error saying my geforce 4mx 4000 is not dx 9 compatabile
when it is. It also said no vista drivers are loaded for it. It's wronf again
they are drect from MS.
I could care less about the version difference as long as I can burn in WMM
direct to DVD. But there is no publish to dvd or even cd un...

Samples of projects
Hi,
Is there any good links to see samples of what people have made using wmm?
Other than the generic ones that I see out there? It would be great to be
able to view others to get ideas for transitions, picture/video footage and
songs used etc....

Videos not publishing
I have the newest version of Windows Movie Maker. When i try to publish a
movie the program stops working. My Problem Reports and Solutions indicates
that the problem is caused by DivX and that a newer version of DivX is
available which may fix the problem. I have a brand new computer and as far
as i know i don't even have DivX, I've looked and can't find it. Other than

Problem with Windows Movie Maker
My OS is Windows Media Center. I download all updates and my software is
registered normally. Wherever Windows Media Center run but no work.
Inmediatly say: send report and close. I intented all for install again the
aplication but continue without work. Is possible somebody help me?

Problem when adding video clip
Hi,
I have added video clips to the end of my project...but then decided that I
want to put them in between the still pictures within the project. Sometimes
this works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes, when I add it, the slideshow
will not play. Then in some sections, when I add it, it does play. Is there
a secret to adding the clips?

Only accept photos not videos ?
I have not used WMM for a few months and it will only now accept photos. If I

Which Version?
My Movie Maker software is part of my WindowsXP O/S. I'm a bit confused
about just which version I have in reference to the comments here.
It's obvious that I don't have Movie Maker for Vista. Getting that out of
the way, when I click on Help and go to About Movie Maker, I see two things;
first, it says Microsoft Windows Movie Maker version 5.1. But then it says
Movie Maker version 2...

saving a movie
I can't save my movie because it says to check or delete source files. I
just took pictures from my pics and put it to some music. What are they
talking about!!! Is this a hard or easy problem to fix?...

I can record a movie, movie make will not save it. it give me send this error
to Microsoft and close down and will not save the file. It work one time for

Both formats?
I've had my video camera for about a month and have been experimenting with
a few different movie making programs including Pinnacle and Windows Movie
Maker. I've also looked at Elements but haven't tried it yet.
Currently, I'm working on a project in Movie Maker that I shot on my video
camera in 16:9 ratio since I have a widescreen TV. But I have already had

trying to change an file ext.
I have downloaded an mini disc from my camcorder to hard drive, and now i
would like to edit it using movie maker, but it wouldn't except the original
file ext which was pdf. so i have changed ext to .wmv or .avi, and still
movie maker won't import it. Hope someone can help or if anyone knows of
another way of importing files. thanks...

Windows Movie Maker Profiles.
Does anyone know where WMM stores its WMV profiles?
There are a number of profiles listed in the "Movie Settings > Show More
Choices" box that are not shown in C:\Program Files\Windows Media
Components\Encoder\Profiles nor are they in "Movie Maker > Shared >
Profiles.
The one I am looking for is: Video for Broadband (512kbps)....

powerpoint overlay
I am fairly new at Movie Maker. My questions are:
1) Can you import a powerpoint presentation?
2) If so, how?
3) How do you set up an overlay? Say your clip is of a person is talking,
then an imported picture or video shows, and then you go back to the person,
but you hear the voice throughout. Like a newscast.
