Video quality
I am trying to capture a video from my camcord into my computer using Window
Movies Maker and in the preview, the video is showing dark and with litter
boxes. How I can fix it in other to get a video clear and good quality?...

Movie Maker Won't Start
When I try to open MovieMaker, it gives me a "MovieMaker has encountered a
problem and needs to close" error. I have tried removing it, downloading it
from Microsoft, and then re-installing, cleaning my registry, etc. Any ideas?...

Installing WMM on CD to transfer to Laptop?
Is it possible to install/download the Windows Movie Maker program on a CD
and then transfer the program to a Laptop? I'd like to have WMM on my laptop,
but I can't download it directly on the laptop because I have Dial-Up, and my
laptop currently does not have internet. So can I put the entire WMM on a CD
and install it to my laptop?...

TrayIcon Error
Hey All:
I'm having trouble saving my movie file. I've shut down programs
running in the background, disconnected from the internet and tried to
restart the computer before I save the file. When I restart the
machine I get a TrayIcon error. Does anyone know what this is? How
do I fix it?

Time between video clips?
So I am trying to figure out how to change the time between a video clip, I
want it to fade out to black and then have a bit of a longer gap, but I can't
find out how to do it. I have tried fading to black with one clip, and then
fading in from black on the next, and it only gives me less then a second of
darkness. Is there a way to increase that?...

Time between pictures and timimg of video transitions
I can't get the time between pictures to be what I want. I go to TOOLS,
OPTIONS, ADVANCED and change to what i want and then click OK but it always
stays at about 4 seconds per pick and one second per transition. WAY TOO
FAST. Is there a glitch in the program? It's the same whether we use the
laptop or our desktop. HELP!

Can't download video from camera
I get this message when I try to import a movie from my camera:
F:\DCIM\200MOVIE\CLIP0005.AVI could not be imported. The required codec was
not downloaded automatically because the Download codecs automatically check
box is not selected in the Options dialog box.
But I don't see any selection of that type in the Options box. Help please....

Canon HG20 can't down load to Windows Movie Maker
I tried using the software that came with my hd camcorder but it is skips,
plus my laptop computer is a little under spec. (core 2 duo 2.0mhg 3 gig ram)
I read someone had the same problem with the same specs on their laptop.
They said they used Windows Movie Maker and it worked well.
I hooked up my Canon HG20 camcorder to my computer using the usb cable and
the movie maker doesn't recogn...

Can't Publish
WMM cannot publish my project. It gets about a third of the way through and
either gets stuck or gives me an error message.
What is your operating system? Vista Home Premium
What version of Moviemaker? 6.0.6.16386
How large is your project? 375 MB
Have you checked your disk space? Yes, and I have 75 gig free.

Conversion between various video & audio formats
Could anyone advise me a good software to do conversion between any video &
audio formats?
I have used "Total viedo convertor" to convert a .wma file into various
viedo formats (.mpg, .flv, .avi), but none of them can be posted to Facebook
or Youtube (the latter 3 viedo formats should be acceptable to Facebook &
Youtube). I guess the failure is due to the source file is an audio fi...

playback is sticking
i made basically a slide show of pics with music. one has saved perfectly,
but on the other half way thru the pictures stop but the music continues. i
went back and saved it again, did the same thing but in a different spot....

Unable to capture DV using firewire
I have a friend who has asked for help from me.
She has a PC with XP SP3, an AMD 4600 processor and 2Gb or Ram. All latest
Microsoft updates have been done. She also has Nero 7 Suite installed. And a

Can't save
(I sent a similar message earlier but it didn't seem to go through)
I have completed my MSWMM file and am now trying to do the next step and
save the whole thing to computer. I get taken through the wizard (it says the
file will be 60 MB) but when it comes to actually try to save it never
manages. I stoppdc one of the efforts when it said it still had 66,500
minutes to go.

Usind dvd on sony player
My dvd won't play through the sony to tv player, I used a maxim dvd+r 4.7GB
the player advises NO AUDIO the dvd was burnt using the hp compaq Presario
inbuilt burner, I have burnt cd's ok. any advise please.

vob is too long for WMM
I am dubbing from VCR to DVD+R to transfer to my computer for editing in WMM.
The last vob is always > 19 hours in length as described in WMM even though
it is smaller in GBytes than the others. As such it is not editable in WMM
in that it is "too long".
Any way around this?...

Windows MovieMaker not playing when saved
I have 2 Movies saved for playback on my computer. The one movie plays
perfectly but the other one does not want to play and has no audio. This
second movie plays perfectly on the timeline or on the storyboard, but
once I save it as a movie file for playback on my computer, it does not
want to play, and only shows the first clip of the movie.

Take (edit) the dog out!
I have a cute video of my child singing Christmas songs....and our dog in the
far background licking himself (go ahead and laugh!). Is there a way to
"blot out", cut, or somehow cover the dog via Movie Maker? It doesn't have

Length of songs doubles?
When I import songs into Movie Maker, the length of the audio doubles. I've
tried converting them to/from MP3, .wma, and .wav format. Nothing works. Is

Some Transitions won't drag onto storyboard - Windows Moviemaker
