Poor video quality?
Hello. I am a newbie at using Movie Maker software. I have managed to get
the computer to recognize my camcorder (Sony Handycam DCR-HC21) and can
capture video from it. My problem is that when I play back the video on my
computer, the quality is very poor. When it plays in the relatively small
box in the right corner of the Movie Maker screen, the quality looks okay.

Problem After Installing Wmm2
I had wmm that came with my HP MediaCenter and it had many "Video Effects" I
like - Pan, Zoom etc. Found Wmm2 and installed it. Now missing HALF of the
video effects from before install. Howcan I get them back?

Trouble Importing .mpg files Into Movie Maker
I'm trying to add some files in an .mpg format into a collection so I
can manipulate them. When I try I get the following error message: "C:
\Documents and Settings\Pbarrett\My Documents\Paul's stuff\Videos
\Staging Area Pan to Path.mpg could not be imported. An interface has
too many methods to fire events from".
Is there a way around this? I've tried to limit the import to a

Importing Music
I'm trying to make a video for my school project and i'm trying to import a
song but whenever I try I only see the sample music. How can I take a song
out of my limewire, or itunes, to upload? Can some one help me please....

Video quality reduced when placed in the timeline
I have some video clips made with Freez Screen that I need to title.
My problem is the original captures are nice and clean after importing into
MoveiMaker. When they are dragged to the timeline, the replay is horribly
reduced in clarity.
I have looked through the settings and can not find anything that improves
this. All my keyword searches turned up video capture quality issues but...

Work file space importing from digital video camera
Windows Vista home premium & moviemaker 6.0.6000.16386
I have limited free disk space on C drive, but plenty on E.
I keep running out of space when importing from digital video camera.
How do I make Moviemaker use E for its workfiles?...

Wmm wont publish my movie.
wmm wont publish my movie.it said theres not enouph file space but i deleted

Newbie needs help please
I just captured the first tape.
In short what do i do next ?
Do i just drag the clips to the story line,there are 51 of them in the 18
minute movie.
Can i use shift & drag them all at once?
After that do i have to convert the WMA files to burn them onto a DVD ?
If so how do i convert them & burn them.
Will Movie Maker burn to DVD ?
How many minutes can i put on a DVD ?

Video clips preview window play pass the cropped area of video.
Okay, I am currently using Windows Movie Maker to edit videos I recorded with
my capture device.
When I crop a section of a clip, I test the start and end of where I cropped
it. The problem is, when I play the selected scene in the preview window,
wherever I cropped that video, it STILL PLAYS PASS the cropped area until the

JVC MOD-files
Hello, I have a problem. I have a new JVC and its generating MOD-files.
Unfortunately Windows Movie Maker can't import that file-type. Does someone
know what I can do best. Just rename the MOD-extension to MPG does not help.

FRAME BY FRAME EDITION
Is it possible to manage one frame (1/30 of a second) at a time?
I want to modify one frame only (or 2, or 3 consecutive) out of every 30
frames per second segment.

Taskbar Changes at Will
I'm using Windows XP Home Edition. For the past few weeks my taskbar, which
is set to 'Windows Classic' seems to change at will to 'Windows XP'. I know
how to reset it, but eventually, when I turn it on in the a.m., the XP style
will pop up again. Can anyone tell me what is causing this & how to stop it

AVI & WMV thumbnails not displayed
(I originally posted this in Vista General Discussion but no response there.
I may be better suited here.)
All AVI and WMV files display an icon rather than a thumbnail image, both in
WMM and Windows Explorer.
JPG photos etc are all OK.
I have tried other suggestions from the forums, inclduing F5 and using disk
cleanup to clear the thumbnail cache.

imported music displays crazy duration
I am using Movie Maker on Vista. I imported some songs to my project, and
all but one works fine. This one is only 3 minutes long, but when I hover
over it in MM, the duration shows as 33949:44:31. And of course if I try to
add it to the timeline anyway, I get a message that the project can't be
longer than 24 hours, so the task is cancelled. What's up with that?! The

Editing Frame Duration
I did my entire slide show and then added effects, bad decision! LOL! Now I
need to know how to change the duration of all of the frames at once so I
don't have to do each one seperatly. I can only figure out how to do it to
new frames being added, not frames already added.

problem burning a dvd
when burning a dvd it will freeze up showing 78% with 75 seconds to go. I
have burn dvds in the past with no problem. This problem has just started
lately. I have left it to finish up to 4 hours with same results. was burning
a 43 minute dvd. any help will be appreciated...

error message: not enough storage
I've used WMM to create several projects and now I'm getting a problem with
it freezing up and the error message "not enought storage to proces this
command" whenever I try to work on my new project. I can't get it to do
anything. I checked and cleared out my temporary storage file and still get
the error message....

Putting a picture in the overlay
I'm making a movie and added a title with the newspaper that rotates
animation and it has a blue box overlay on it. I want to put a picture in
the overlay box. I don't want to see a stupid blue box.. I went to help and
it didn't say anything. Is it possible to make the blue box a picture
instead. Could Microsoft have meant to put a stupid blue box in the middle

Hi Folks
I need your help please.
I have an old video - .avi file - which I understand uses a codec
called:-
FOURCC code "CJPG"
I believe that the file "ctwbjpg.dll" contains that codec
In Windows 98, I would have installed it by:-
Copy "ctwbjpg.dll" to "c:\windows\system"
Then add
[drivers32]
VIDC.CJPG=ctwbjpg.dll
to the "system.ini" file

USB Instant VideoMPX Device brings false "Device currently in use
I have been using an ADS "USB Instant VideoMPX Device" to capture video to
