Doesn't play entire movie
After I import the 2 movie clips into MM, I click on play and ONLY the first
15 seconds of the 12 MINUTE movie plays. I the 12 MINUTE movie I want to edit
some portions of it. HELP PLEASE...

LIVE Movie Maker - Am I missing something?
I just installed the new beta of Live MM and I can't find any features. No
way to scroll text. No timeline. Either something is wrong with my install
or this program has gone backwards by about 15 years.

file exstensions
I have saved video clips on my computerfrom a kodak easy share camera and im
trying to put them onto windows movie maker then onto a dvd but it wont let
me because the file exstension is .mov how do i get it to let me change it or
how can i get it onto windows movie maker...

Video previewing as a thin horizontal line in middle of preview wi
When I add a movie to the timeline, it preview as a very thin horizontal line
in the middle of the preview window. The movie is a wmv file. I am using
Vista and the Movie Maker that came with Vista.
Any suggestions?

Suddenly, "Unspecified error"
Hi, working with MM, everything fine. Then, one fine fall day, I open a
project file that worked fine, and I get "Unspecified Error". I tried all the
fixes in these forums with resetting the directory permissions for the Temp
file, etc. Nothing has fixed it.
One thing I guessed might have an effect, but don't know how to fix it, is I

Imported VOB file plays for only 16 sec in Vista MM
I have a VOB file that I've downloaded from my son-in-law's Sony camera.
Other VOB's from that camera work fine, but I have one that plays for about
16-18 seconds, and then stops. When I first select the file, I can drag
the slide bar to about any place in the file, but from there it will only
play the 16 seconds. I'm pretty sure the file is corrupt in some way

MP3 file not playing sound & has flat "sound line"
I have Dell desktop with Windows XP Professional (updated) and WMM (updated)
and a subscription to Norton Anti-Virus subscription to screen downloaded

How to Change Background Color on *Slides*?
How do you change the default black background behind slides/photos to
another color? (not titles/credits).
I understand about ratio's... not a new wmm user. It's not that I'm
trying to *cover* the black, it's that I'm trying to *change* the
color. I've done it before.... I even pulled up other movies I've made
with different background colors behind the slides, so I know it's
possible :/

Cannot watch published movie on DVD player
I need some serious help here folks!
I am using Movie Maker 6 (SP1) that comes with Vista and am trying to
publish a simple project that definitely previews right. The steps that I go
through are:
- hit publish movie
- select DVD (I am then taken to DVD Maker)
- I leave all my setting as default, which is:
->start with DVD Menu
->aspect ratio is 4:3

shrinking mp3 files
I am posting this question here because I use my MP3 files a lot with my
movies (after converting them). The problem is I made the mistake of ripping
my music to MP3 format with a 192 kbs bit rate. Now I am running out of
storage. Does anybody know how to convert a 192 kbs file to a 128 kbs file?
I googled it and founs lots of "freeware" but I do not trust most of it. I

MM Stalls when playing or editing movie files
Vista 64bit / 8GB RAM / MovieMaker v6.0.6000.16386
I like to use MM because it's small and pretty easy to use. However,
when I try to move ahead on a timeline it stalls, and most often doesn't
come back. It doesn't seem to matter what the source file is.
I also have Premier Elements, but I find it big and very slow - Thanks

Uploading Windows Movie Maker Project to YouTube
Apparently YouTube does not accept videos with the .mswmm file extension.
Can anyone please tell me how to save the project with an extension
acceptable to YouTube? The "save project as" pull down in Windows Movie
Maker doesn't allow any other choice but the .mswmm extension. Is there a
work around? Many thanks in advance....

Sound but No video
I am trying to download my home videos. This is the first time using the
camera and Windows Vista. I have tried in both Movie maker and vista but am
only getting sound.

WMM closes when I try to add clip
I'm currently working a music video project, but now MM reports an error and
closes every time I try to add a clip. Now, I'll admit, the clips I'm using
are pretty high-quality .avi movies, so perhaps the files are too big to work
with? Though I've managed to cut them up in less than 5 second clips...
And actually, the problem doesn't always start when I click the clips...
