List of Hotfixes and Security Updates since XP SP3 Release
I have been on here, off and on for the last couple of weeks, just following
the threads to learn more about the XP operating system. There was a thread
that mentioned a site that had a list of all releases since May when SP 3 was
released, like a dummy I didn't mark the site and now would like to get that
list.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

ActiveSyn 4.5
I have installed and use ActiveSyn 4.5 Traditional Chinese version together
with my PDA phone for more than a year. Since Dec 08, I failed to link up my
phone with my computer with USB cable, which is proved to be intact. Neither
I could uninstall or re-install ActiveSyn. The 'fix' function of ActiveSyn
did not work at all. Could anyone tell me what is the problem?...

Well that's a new trick
I just tried to download Darlele Love's excellent Christmas song, "All
Alone This Christmas," with Limewire, and was surprised when it tried to
install a virus on my PC. Normally I'm quite adept at distinguishing the
thinl disguised viri from the useful content, but this time the malware

Screen Saver and Scroll Bars Do Not Work
Downloaded a free Screen Saver from American Greetings Web Site. Now the
entire screen saver function fails to work. In addition, the scroll bars do
not work in any program. Computer screen flickers and computer buzzes
periodically. Have current Norton Internet Security. Shows no virus. Ran

Error - IM32FAX.DIL Not Found! (error message upon startup)
Upon startup I receive an error message that says "IM32FAX.DIL Not Found!".
Numerous other flaky things have been happening since I started receiving
this error message. I am running XP Home Edition.
How do I get this file back??

ATI Video BIOS Poller Error Message
Every single time @ Startup, for a year probably, I received an error message
ATI Video BIOS Poller
ATI2evxx.exe Application error. Instrruction @ 0x7c911404 referenced memory
@ OXF---------8. The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the
program or cancel to debug the program.

cleanmgr restore points, when is it done?
In start/run/cleanmgr, XP Home
If I only want to remove all but the last restore
point, I let it calculate useless info on C:
and then go to the More Options tab, click
System Restore/cleanup
It then goes to work.
My question is how do you know when it's done?
Neither the Cancel nor the OK button seems to

why does MPLayer 9 after SP3 work only in admin mode?

Volume Control Removed? And Accessories > Entertainment Gone
I'm on a Dell 3100 desktop that I received from a friend and apparently he

Acer Aspire 3000 keyboard and touchpad problems in Windows XP

froze for over an hour and I turned it off & on. Both mistakes. I have no

MCI Error
I have a XP Pro machine where there are sounds associated with events but
they will not play and the preview button is grayed out. WAV's do play in
the Media Player so it appears it is not a codec issue.
I ran Windows Diag and it reported

audio issue
im kinda new, and ive read already a few post that are similar to mine, but

Can XP-Pro's delayed disk write feature be disabled?
Although I previously posted this query to the 'XP General' list, no one
seems to have responded. Can anyone who reads this list assist?
I find that on an XP-Pro SP2 system, what I understand to be a delayed
disk write feature has some significant disadvantages in certain

external HD
I have a 120GB USB HD.
Will be installing second USB HD, 1TB, and am wondering if there might be
any conflicts between them?
Xp-Pro with 1 GB memory
Also in searching for this I found on Western Digital site that I should
power computer off before removing ET HD. I normally just turn HD power on
or off leaving USB cable connected and have had no problem. Am I taking a
chance?

Windows SP Pro Hangs Up at Start Up
I run XP Pro (I believe it's SP#).
When I turn on my computer, frequently it starts up as far as a black
screen then seems to hang up.
If I turn it off, (by holding in the power button for 3 seconds),
it'll turn off. Then when I power it up again it usually restarts.
Sometimes it takes a second power off.
Just wondering if anyone has any helpful thoughts on some things I

Component errors re-occur at same Registry location
My Presario 900Z Lap Top runs Microsoft Windows XP Home edition Version 2
Service Pack 3 and all of the latest Microsoft updates.
During April 2008, I installed WINFERNO Registry Power Cleaner V2008.1.7

Scroll Bars and Screen Saver Do Not Work

Modem can not be removed
Some time ago I have changed my broadband connection from USB Modem to a
Router. Every time I switch on I get the error message Event ID 7000 in the
event viewer as follows:
"Intel AnyPoint 3240 USB Model firmware loader failed to start ..."
It is not listed in the hardware Device Manager. It is listed in the
Registry Local Machine under Legacy_P32Load and under Services P32 Load.
