IRDA error-adjusting
When moving multiple pictures from my mobile phone to computer, there is
an option on every upload to "close this dialog box when the transfer is
complete" , is there a way always to turn it off so that always is
turend off, not having the problem manually closing it after each and
every transfer ?
It's not hard closing it, but when stays opened and another trnasfer
being occured it ...

new browser
Since there doesn't seem to be a solutiion to the problem of my Internet
Explorer cutting off, is it possible or advisable to change my browser? If
so, what do you suggest?

I'm hoping to clean up my computer. I have folders and files that are
empty after opennig folders that are before them can I just delete
them? I'm trying to clean up my system that is slow and hanging up.

Monitor auto power off not working after last MS update
Prior to the last windows update last week, the one with Service Pack 3,
desktop properties would allow me to set monitor power off after a specified
time,
after which the power to the monitor would automatically turn off. Since the
last update, this no longer works. When I try to save a new Power Scheme, I
get the message "two revision levels are incompatible" and it won't allow me
to save...

Drive letters change on start up
i have a ide cd drive that i like to keep a "f" , and a sata dvd drive that
i like to keep as "e" ,, but everytime i reboot the computer it switches
the drive letters on me and i have to go back and switch them back.
is there anything i can do , or anything i'm doing wrong , that i can stop
these drive letters from changing??...

External HD question
I have an external (USB) HD on one XP computer which is working just fine.
When I move the drive to my other XP PC, the drive letter shows but no data.
It's telling me to insert the disk!!

Installing MP3 Player Utilities 4.18 from provided CD
I got the element model GC-920/940 mp3 player for christmas. It came
with an application CD so i could put all the music and stuff on it etc.
But every time I click the Setup file and start to install. The bar
fills up twice, then just stops and the bar goes backwards and tells me
that the installation has been interrupted. Then i click close and get a
Setup - Fatal error during installation mess...

Not allowing programs to temporarily change screen resolution
My Dell Vostro 1710 laptop has suddenly stopped allowing games to change the
screen resolution. It will look fine for a second and then go back to my
desktop resolution, which is set much higher. It was working fine 2 days
ago. Any suggestions??...

Word *ERROR*
I recently downloaded the service pack 3. the day after i tried to open Word
and got the error message: "Microsoft Word has not been installed for the
current user. Please run setup to install the application."
It is only word that has the problem.

Microsoft Office 2003 Issue
Hi There,
I had IE 6 that had Microsoft Ofiice 2003 on the toolbar. I
downloaded IE 7, and Microsoft Office 2003 was deleted. I cannot do a
system restore because i can't got back far enough. I don't want to
have to do a system recovery either, but if i have to, i will. I was
told to go to the control panel and delete IE 7, and was told the IE 6

XP computer fails to reboot
I have a computer that runs XP Pro (SP-3) that fails to boot every time.
This was shut down properly, however, it now will not boot back up. Even in
safe mode it restarts just as windows should be loading.

THUMBNAIL VIEWS ARE WRONG
IN ONE OF MY PHOTO FOLDERS, SOME OF THE JPEG THUMBNAIL IMAGES ARE DIFFERENT
THAN THE RAW IMAGES WITH THE SAME FILE NUMBER, AND THEY ARE BOTH DIFFERENT

OT: Remocing URL history from Firefox??
How does one clear the typed URL history? When I click to remove
private data and reopen Firefox, the URL history is still there.
Someone earlier suggested highlighting each one and then deleting them
all. That does not work for me and it seems there would be an easier
solution. Is there?

Timing changes after installing SP3
I installed SP3 in the usual way -- I said "okay" when asked if I wanted to
install SP3. I now have Windows version 5.1 (build
2600.xpsp_sp3_qdr.080814+1236 : Service Pack 3) on two different machines.

Need Help to remove a Share

system reboot failure at successful application of Recovery CD

Failed to start uncmds.dll
I had to reboot my computer and now I get this all the time. It also says to
reinstall the componet which shoud help it. I really dont want to reboot all
over again so how do I get it to reinstall without going thru a total reboot

Continuous hard disk activity: wmiprvse.exe
I get continuous hard disk activity, about once per second, and using
Process Monitor I see that it's this program, wmiprvse.exe. I've read if
it's in the wrong place it could be a virus, but it's in the 2 proper system
folders I think. What do I do about it? Can I just delete it? Really

ARABIC LANGUAGE UNINSTALL

after some serious troubles my daughters PC had to have everything (I mean
everything as the harddrive had to be re-formatted) re installed. During the

Removing Empty Folders
I have some folders that I want to delete. A couple have proper names, but
are empty. A couple have a comma for a name and empty. I don't know how that
happened. And a couple were some how saved with no name and empty.
I tried the solutions listed at the KB article I listed below;

XP - Restore Point problem
Downloaded the Internet Explorer security patch the computer became very
slow and kept crashing time after time even when booting up in safe mode.
When I tried to restore to a previous restore point I now get the message
"cannot restore to the previous restore point". Where to now?
