Multiple hard drives, unrecognized drives, unexpected change of boot priority.
My C: partition is one of three partitions on a RAID 0 array that
consists two 250G HDDs. I have two other 250G HDDs running
individually. When I replace HDD number 3 with a new (unformatted) 1TB
HDD the three partitions on the other individual HDD disappears from
Explorer and the 1TB drive does not show either.
Drive 1 (two physical drives in array), C:, E:, and G:

Bypassing Logon
How do I eliminate having to log on to Win XP Pro, even with no
password?
I know this question's been asked a thousand times, and I've done that
on my desktop, but I can't on my laptop.
I tried options in User Accounts and there is no "Remember Password"
checkbox in the logon window. Other ideas? TIA.

Windows Task Manager; high CPU use
At my work computer, when I go to Yahoo Mail, the CPU Usage goes
extremely high (over 50%), and causes me to be unable to load any web
pages at all. I have to wait 3-5 minutes for the CPU usage to go down
again, and then I can load pages again. It doesn't always happen in
Yahoo Mail, but it often does, and it happens with either Firefox or
IE.
On the Performance display, there are two hi...

I log off before going to bed and everything's fine. I log on this morning
and my computer acts like a new one just out of the box with no files on it.
XP and pre-installed stuff is there, but my documents, music, pictures,
e-mails saved in Outlook; all gone. Should I just hire one of those guys who
Data Retrieval or what? System Restore is totally useless. Is Geek Squad any

Odd XP problem
Student brought her laptop in today to have it looked at. Was riddled with
spyware and the odd trojan. Got rid of that stuff handily enough (I hope!).
Then turned to a problem she had been having previous to the infections, and
which could well be related. In safe mode, everything works as expected.
Network access is fine and can run network tools such as ipconfig, netsh etc.
In normal...

What type of pop-ups are these and how do I stop them?
Ok, I work for a hotel here in San Diego and we have 2 business center PC's
that are both running IE Version 7.0.5730.11. One of the PC's(the one i'm
writing this on) keeps having issues with pop-ups. Sometimes when I check the
pop-up blocker it's turned off but other times, like today, it's on yet the
pop-ups happen anyway. In the 20 minutes since I sat down here 10 pop-ups
have popped ...

How to Cascade or Tile all windows
I recall there being a mechanism that would allow one to tile or cascade
windows for all applications, including those minimized on the task bar. It
seems like it was the the context menu for the desktop but I cannot find it
there. Does such a command/menu choice exist or it is a remnant of Win95 or
3.1 that I'm thinking about?
My need for this is an attempt to resolve a problem I hav...

there are more configuration issues. I have also read though where BPS on
the SBS 2003 server may break some other things such as WSUS. What I don't

when I am not doing anything.
If I run File Monitor, I can see 3 things running constantly:

Is this normal and is it slowing down my system?
Thanks,
