Hibernation is a dicey operation, at best. Microsoft even put out an update to try and correct it. I can't understand why they insist it is a viable option given its problems on desktops. Meanwhile, Standby seems to work, so far. Every time I boot up from cold I notice that my Screen Resolution has gone back to 1024x768 pixels whereas I have set it to 1600x900.
