Web Client/Publisher Temporary Files?

Windows XP Service Pack 2
I recently recieved SP2 from Microsoft. When I go to install, the files are extracted and the screen U PDATING YOUR SYSTEM appears. The system says that this could take up to two hours, but I have left the computer on overnight, and the next morning the progress bar hasn't moved. I concllude something is causing it to hang up at this point. HELP...

Hi, My friend's dell laptop stops in the middle of the boot and waits until she clicks on her user icon befor finish booting. port 25 packet sending
Hi, In my windows xp dos prompt, I enter the command netstat -na and found lots of lots of connections to foreign IP address's port 25. But I didn't open any mail sending program so far. hope this is the correct group to ask this. I'm looking to upgrade my cpu from 1.7ghz to 2.4 or higher. Does the skt size play a part? I don't have any packaging to find what i have now, have looked at the processor but the wording has come off. It may be 692 or 694. How can I organise my files in the hard dish and USB memory stick?
