Not Able To See Users Tab In Allowed Users Tab In Network Connections
Hello
I am not able to view the Allowed Users Tab In Network Connections\Incoming
Connections. It Just crashes and error reporting comes in front.
This Is Error Info is displayed.And The attachment is error dumped by watson
i suppose.
Please Help.....

Upgrading Windows XP Home to Pro
I currently have a laptop with Windows XP Home SP3 installed. I need to
install a software package that does not support Windows XP Home or Vista. I
need to upgrade to Windows XP Pro but not sure what to buy. I tried a copy of
XP Pro version 2002 but got an error message that stated the version on the

audio problem
I haven't had any basic pc sounds for quite sometime,I can play CD's, windows
media player and some game sites...but no video (youtube) or e-cards have
sound. What's weird is that I brought in my pc to get viruses cleaned up and
it had all the sounds at the shop, but when I brought it home its back to
being semi-quiet.
any help would be greatly appreciated!...

XP DNS stopped working?
XP Home. Worked OK for several years. Automatic MS update enabled. PC
connected to home router.
During an update last week, the update stopped suddenly before
completion. Since then, it has been impossible to access the internet
with IE or OE: page not found, server not found etc. All other PCs
connected to the router continue to function normally.

Hi, I think I have seen 'fixes' for this to disable this option, but I want
to know how i can enable it.
I am tired of going to various sites I visit to log on and have to type over
and over my email address (or logon name)

Suddenly unable to log multiple users into XP
For some reason, my computer has stopped allowing multiple users to log into
Windows at the same time. There are 4 accounts on the computer and it does
not matter which user is the first logged or and which user is the second
trying to log in. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How did my open windows display as thumbnails on Desktop?
I was moving my keyboard around and must have accidentally hit a key
combination that made all the windows of the programs I was working with
appear like large thumbnails in a nicely-spaced array on my screen. It was
really neat and I'd like to know how I did it! I've been searching
everywhere for documentation for this to no avail.

toolbar placement
My toolbar mistakenly moved to the side of my screen when my mouse fell. How
do I get it back to the bottom of my screen? I have already checked and it is

RS232 Problem
I have a program that communicates with an instrument via the RS232
interface. The program worked fine with the equipment, and a simulator that
I built for test on another WIN98 computer. However, with the new WinXP
computer there is no receiving of data from the port. If I go into the
Device Manager and disable and then re-enable the port, everything seems to

cannot remove folder <.......> The direct is not empty
Hi all,
Could anyone please help me. I have been trying for a while to delete a
folder from my documents. Firstly when i try it says file name too long for
recycle bin and asks if I want to permanently delete. I don't want them - so
yes to all.

Every time when i turn on my PC the following dialog boxs comes up "

white boxes around menu items
In my user account (Win XP Home) on some of my "smaller simpler"
programs I see white boxes around the menu items (Notepad Plus for
example - but most other programs do not show this)
This doesn't happen in my adminstrator account if I open Notepad Plus
there, yet I am not aware of any program that loads in user account and
not in admin account.
Anyone got any ideas what might cause ...

Hung installation from Microsoft Office XP Standard
I recently logged on to a Japanese language site and rec'd a message saying
all characters may not be displayed unless installed the correct language
software from MS Office XP Standard.
I clicked Yes and on restarting was asked to insert the MS Office XP
Standard disk.
I now get a message that the fil can't be found, so instalation is not

Sound from one side only?
I am only getting sound out of one channel (right side speaker only). I have
tried using headphones, speakers, and the built in laptop speakers but only
get sound from one side. I have tried several different applications to play
music and still only sound from one side. I have checked the volume control
and it is balanced to the center line like it should be. Any suggestions?

Defrag..asks for chkdsk /f
In all the years that I've used Defrag (and, separately,
chkdsk), I had never seen a window telling me to first
do chkdsk /f before doing defrag. I do chkdsk /r
periodically, after first doing defrag. This time, when
I got the message, I did chkdsk /r, which I had the
understanding is a more rigorous or complete test,

Find Fast
Is there any way to set Find Fast so that it begins its indexing when *I* want
to do it, like 3:00 am?
And also, so that it tells me that it is running, and that a virus hasn't
taken control of my computer?
Once it starts, the only way I can continue working is to switch the power off
and restart the computer -- it takes control so completely that it is
impossible to do a normal shut-dow...
