Lost my email and tasks!
I'm running XP Pro SP3
I spent a little time re-sorting the folder structure in the start menu.
The idea was make things a little more logical after I had XP re-loaded and a
back-up reinstated after a hard drive crash. I had quite a few duplicate
folders.
After moving a few folders around I looked in my Outlook where I used to
have a few email and some 'tasks' that I had set up, th...

log on my user account automatically instead of Admin account, how?
I installed all those net framework thingies through MS update. Now when I
restart the computer I get logged on to the default Administrator account
automatically. Then I have to Switch User to go to my account. I don't want
to use the Welcome screen and I just want to boot up and go straight in to
my account when I reboot like it used to do before I updated.
How?
Thanks!!!

Stopping popups from popping up
Is there any to stop popups from actually popping up? Like when you're
downloading a file and there's a popup that tells you it's finished and it
pops up while you're looking at another site. I don't want to block the
popup from occurring, just keep it from interupting another site or program.

System Tray issues?
If I understand correctly, the Task Bar is the gray bar at the bottom of the
Windows screen which has "Start" at the left, and the System Tray is the row
of icons on the right-hand end of the Task Bar ending with the clock on the
right. If that's correct, see below. If not, please correct me.
My question concerns the System Tray, as defined above.
The System Tray appears to contain...

Some Registry Measurements
Registry Use:
I decided to take a look at just what kind of things were in the
registry with respect to installed programs. We already know there are
huge number of entries for the operating system, but how about programs?
So I got out my handy-dandy registry lister tool and the first thing I
counted was a non-MS app, WinZip since many people use it these days.
The counts ar...

System restore not found
I hope someone can help. I have XP Pro 64 bit on my main (boss?) computer
with all service packs installed. The other three computers in my home
wireless network run XP (32) Home or Pro. Up until a few days ago,
everything worked well; each computer could talk the other and all connected
to the internet and to the printer, which is cable attached to the boss.
My 7 year old son and some ...

Places bar edit question, Office places bar can be set to small icons so >5 items appear, WinXP size not working.
I've been trying all morning to get the general Windows places bar to
allow more than 5 entries. I've edited the registry following 3
different guides and have dl and tried 4 utilities to do the same.
Even putting in DWORD SizeItem 0 as suggested didn't change icons to
small in general Windows places bar. Yet toggling SizeItem 0 to 1 in
Office one works, they go big or small according to nu...

I'm sharing a computer with an unusual video monitor instead of a standard PC

Installing Dutch and English languages on XP Home?
I have an English friend who lives in Holland. He has a desktop PC that runs
'XP Home' with a Dutch language setup for his Dutch speaking children.
There are separate user logins setup for him and each child.
For his own use on this PC he'd like to change the deployed language from
Dutch to English. Is this possible on 'XP Home', if so how?
We've looked at the various regional setting...
