I am unable to set "show hidden files and folders".
I am running XP Professional SP 2. Dell 1GHz Pentium system.

Show Desktop Icon stopped working
My Show Desktop icon on the Quick Launch bar is no longer working.
I've deleted it and recreated it (using a couple of different
methods).
No matter how I recreate it, when I press it nothing happens.
This is really bugging me and could really appreciate someone's help
to solve this!
Many thanks.

Sustem Restore
I had a tech at Verizon do a hard reset on my PDA (Treo 650) due to a
software issue. He then told me to hot sync it again. Well he did not tell
me to switch the command to desktop overrides the PDA and since the PDA was
empty of knowledge, now my desk top is empty. I was told I could do a system
restore and go back to a point in time, and get this desktop stuff back. I

LAN connection fails
I'm working on a Computer Club's lap top computer. Window XP Home. It had

Checking the status of the Local Area connection on the Support tab, the
status reads:
"You might not be able to access the Internet or some network resources.
This problem occurred because the network did not assign a network address

Old Notepad.exe
Though familiar with XP at work I'd deliberately stayed with Win98 at home
till recently as I preferred it for some things, and one of these was

of a lot it's already bugging me as I knew it would.
Word-wrapping doesn't work as it used to and I don't want to be able to
change fonts either. I just want the plai...

Explorer loses focus on current file
Is there any way in Windows XP to alter the default behavior of Windows
Explorer when a file is modified or renamed? I'm finding it very irritating
that a file I modify or rename is automatically thrown to the bottom of the
folder, losing the focus and often vanishing off the bottom of the screen.
Is there any way to keep Explorer's focus on the current file when it is
modified or rena...
