CD copy and drag and drop
I have been trying and trying to either copy or drag and drop an Excel
file ont a CD-RW. I usually use the CD-RW as an additional copy. I add
files and change them the same as I do on the C drive.
However today I cannot do so. I can only burn. The burned files are
"read only " and I cannot seem to change that function. On the file
properties it is shadowed.

QuickRes and Display driver
For a few last days, when I boot up my Windows XP Home SP3 machine, I'm
getting a mysterious message "Display driver does not support QuickRes. You
must be running a Windows 95 driver in 256 color mode or higher". After I
click on OK, everything seems normal... I tried to make some adjustments in
the Display in Control panel without any visible results...
What this QuickRes is all about? ...

ATI Driver
I've recently had to recover from a system crash...everything appears to be
OK except when I boot I get an error message telling me that there is no ATI
driver installed or it isn't working. I'm using XP Home Edition, SP3.
What does this mean? Is it serious & how do I rectify the problem?

Install Valid version of XP
Hi
Have an HP machine that had a vakid copy of XP Pro installed. Licence no on
sticker on machine etc etc. Cleared the hard drive to reinstall but no longer
have the HP disc that came with the machine.
HP say that it is microsoft problem - MS say that is HP problem although
they confirm that the licence no is valid.

Window XP Error Accessing File
Ok. Here is something new.
I am having a problem with very large tables.
The error I get is "File Read Error... Path and File Name".
I am performing a simple replace on a numeric field.
Eg.: Replace All "numeric field" with "Numeric Value"
I use VFP 8 Plus all service packs and hotfixes.
The table is about 23 million records.
I tryed it with several different commands.

Previous 'No sounds'
I finally got my audio to working on this computer. It had nothing to do
with software or hardware. It had to do with the dysfunction between the
chair and the keyboard! I had the stereo speaker plug plugged into the GD
microphone jack on the sound card!!!
A few more years and I'll only need to be placed in a sunny area and
watered occasionally......

Desktop icon
Does anyone know if there is a way to bring back the 'Desktop' icon? Win98
had it but XP seems to have dropped it. You could click on it in your tray
and it would minimize everything to show just your desktop.
I thought this was a handy little item and I'm going to miss it....

Lost all sound
My son tried to reduce the CPU usage by removing programs which had no usage.
Everything works EXCEPT- 1. I had to reinstall Messenger Windows Live, 2. I
lost the Unused Desktop Icon and most critical 3. there is no sound on the
computer.
The speakers are powered. In the Control Panel, in Sounds and Audio Devices
under the Volume tab it says "No Audio Device" and the volume and speake...

Hi - can anyone help with this error message? I have Windows XP Pro. I've
installed "Partition Commander" to resize the partition and installed "Norton
SystemWorks 2000" and ran the one stop check to make sure everything works

Still no sound
I checked the bios and made sure the on-board audio was disabled. Then
removed and re-installed the Yamaha drivers for the pci sound card. When I
rebooted there was no bootup sound, so I figured I was back where I
started.
I did notice I had a volume control in my task bar, which was encouraging.
I checked the device manager and there were 'no yellow question marks'.

Dotted line box appears around selection
I have recently seen a dotted-line box appear around items that I select with

Software Download Error Message help
I have XP Pro SP3
I have tried to download some software (iTunes and Windows Installer Cleanup
Utility package) but each time I ge the error message 'Windows cannot access
the specified drive, path or file. You may not have the appropriate
permissions to access this item.'
My account has Administrator rights.

Dotted line box showing up around selected items
Whenever I click on an item when I am on or offline a dotted line box is
appearing?
I dont recall seeing it before. Is this a problem?

My desktop is broken :)
I foolishly downloaded 70 photos onto my desktop. I immediately created a
folder, Pictures, and placed the photos into the new Pictures folder. this
works fine until I reboot. When I reboots, the photos are out of the folder
and back on the desk top. If I right click onto 'my computer' and hit restore

Sendto Any folder missing
