Media Sharing
When ever i click on media sharing under library i check the box to share my
media and click ok but it just freezes then becomes unresponsive. How can I
fix this?...

Windows Media Player 11 not detecting portable device
I have WMP 11 running on Microsoft Windows XP, Home Edition. I've had it
installed and running since it was updated from WMP 10.
I've been using my Samsung mp3 player with no problems until last week when
it was no longer being detected. WMP 11 will detect my husband's mp3 player,
but not mine. I've tried troubleshooting it myself with no luck. Any help is
appreciated....

Sync doesn't work properly
I lived on a PC since the mid 80's & yet i'm struggling to use the sync
feature
I cant imagine anyone with less then 10 years computing experience has a
hope in hell of using it
I plug in my phone and 'Sync' button is glowing
My phone already has dozen or so albums on it via Windows simple drag/drop
interface - but i want to show my Dad how to put music in his new mobile

Won't recognize MP3 player
I have Media Player10 run with Windows XP. I have a Samsung MP3 player that
I've used successfully for over a year to synchronize songs on to. Now all of
a sudden I get a message saying " Windows Media Player no longer detects a
connected portable device. Reconnect your portable device, and then try
synchronizing the file again." I've done that several times and I've even
changed cords ...

Fast forwarding with the slider
I used to be able to fast forward and rewind my .wav files by dragging the
slider while the .wav file was playing. I am no longer able to do so? How
do I fix this??? I am transcribing interviews for my thesis and this is
ridiculous....

WMP 11 freezes
I have WMP 11 (version 11.0.6001.7000) on Vista Home Premium OS (svc pack 1).
If I pause a song (from library or cd), for an extended period of time, WMP
freezes and I have to reboot my pc to even use it again. Any ideas will be
appreciated. Also if I pause a song at all, then that song cannot be
un-paused. I have to choose a different song, then re-start the previous
song from the b...

Can't Play MP3 disks in WMP 11
When I put a mp3 disk in the D drive it spins up and opens up Windows media
Player 11. But it never starts playing or posting a play list. If I manually
click to open the D drive and click on the playlist file it will then post
the playlist and start playing my music. I am running VISTA Home Premium with
service pack 1.
I called my computer maker (Velocity Micro) and they had no idea....

when I put cd in computer the ripping feature does not acknowledge cd
inserted in system it remains blank awaiting cd insertion...

songs wont play all the way through

Burning CD
For some reason I am unable to burn an audio CD. It is strange because I was
able to rip info from CD and can burn other things I have ripped but not
this. It is as audio CD of a church program. All other CD's are music but
this one is a mix of music and speaking parts of a program. It was ripped
from a regular maxell CD and I am trying to write to another maxell CD....

Media Player 11 will not auto-play
When a CD is inserted Media Player will not auto-play it. The file window of
the CD comes up. I've made the settings in the player properties for auto
run for Media Player but nothing has changed. Does anyone have a solution for
this problem? I'm using XP....

can't see avi files
I have DVD with avi files. some DVD players play all files , and in some new
DVD players like "Pioneer" "Apex" "Yepo" , I can't see most of avi files
on the menu.

WMP11 doesn't retrieve cached wmv file although http headers allow caching
Need for caching:
We have a environment where we Windows Media Server is used to stream
live and on-demand audio/video. Some video's are not that big like in
about 15-20mb in size. Clients of ours often ask us if we can mark
files cachable but that does not seem to work out good on windows
media server for *public* files. Thus is user A has viewed a video
that user B can view the cached ve...

ripping CD
I have 2 CDs that will not rip. They are not copies. I have ripped hundreds
to date yet these 2 will only play, not rip... a player miniscreen appears
when I insert the discs while in the rip tab of my WMP... any suggestions?
Are some CDs simply rip-proof?...

Media Player 11 won't open
For some reason, after being away for the weekend, and returning with new
speakers (headphone jack connection only - no issue there), media player will
not open for me.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the firefox plug-in, but cannot
seem to uninstall the actual program itself? Nor can I find 11 for download
on Microsoft website (am I blind?).
Any help or possible reason...

Sound wont work
I have a Gateway computer EV700, with windows 98, i also have a laptop with
wireless internet. the gateway doesn't have internet. Can i without cords,
connect to the internet with my pc through my laptop? If I do need a cord,

Video and sound not synchronized for 640x480 AVI
I'm running Windows Media Player 11 on XP Service Pack 3. I have a Canon
Powershot 870Si digital camera that takes movies in AVI format. When I take
movies at 640x480 resolution, they play back on the camera fine, but on
Windows Media Player, the sound rate plays back correctly but the video plays

Pause when screensaver active?
Is there a way to pause WMP11 play (audio as it happens) when the
screensaver becomes active?
I have a single keystroke that activates my screensaver, but the music
keeps playing.

No image in asf file in WMP 11 on Vista
Hi,
It works on my XP computer. But my Vista computer gives no image in WMP 11
when running the same asf files. When I convert the asf file to a wmv file,
it plays the video.
Any clues, Anybody?

wmp11 not refreshing sync devices
i have a motorola ROKR and when i hook up my phone (via USB) and click on
refresh devices in the sync tab... nothing happens. wmp doesn't recognise my
phone at all....
