playing mpeg files
When playing mpeg files I downloaded from my camera, the audio plays, but
the video stops after one or two seconds. This happens on every single mpeg
on both computers (one is Vista, one in XP).
Any way to fix this?...

getting on line
I cannot deselect off line in media player. When I click offline it puts a
tick in the box, when I click to make it online the tick goes but the I
remain off line. Can anyone help please? Is it something to do with my
security setting?...

Windows Media Player crashes
Hi,
We are currently developing an ASF streaming server that streams to
WMP 11. After establishing the session , WMP11 buffers data. When the
buffering reaches 100% WMP crashes and sends a debug error report.
What could be the possible reason for the crash?
Has it got to be an error in the RTP payload data?
Or is there some error while establishing the session?
please help.

Windows Media player 11
When I try to play videos in media player, they just freeze on the first
frame and don't play. I hit play/pause over and over again, and nothing
happens, it's just still stuck on the first frame. Videos play fine other
applications such as windows movie maker.
Additionally, I use Studio 10 to edit video, and now I have problems
rendering video... I can still import, view, and edit ...

Hi All,
Does anyone know where, if at all, there are codecs to support .tga, .tiff
and other image file formats?
Additionally as a long shot, any codecs that will visualise .mb (maya) files?

Tivo To Go and WMP 11
I installed Tivo-to-Go about 2 months ago and was able to see the TiVo
recordings on WMV until yesterday. All of a sudden, the file won't play. WMV
opens up as if it were going to play the file, but nothing happens. I don't
even get an error message. I tried going to the About WMV section and
clicking on Technical Support and nothing happened. I was curious enough to
try and see my file'...

pauses between tracks that shouldnt be there
have just ripped and burned jean michel jarres equinoxe cd. problem im having
is although the cd lists 8 tracks it is in reality just 1 track from start to
finish.
when playing the original cd there are no breaks or pauses in the music, it
just blends and fades from one tune to the next.

WMP 11 Not working on commercial dvds
My WMP 11 on XP Home SP3 is not playing commercial DVD movies. Do I
need to pay for the commercial codecs that MS suggest or can I
download free codecs. If so how do I incorporate them or do they just
reside on my machine.
The codecs that MS suggest say they work on SP2. What about SP 3?...

C00D11B3 "network" error and "ready" - not really
While trying to listen to a local radio station in WMP 10 on XP SP3 I get the
above error. However I know it's NOT really a network error as such, because
the station plays if I paste the link into mplayer2 (I saw a hint to test
that, which you can access via the "run" menu, in another post).
In WMP 10 (and also WMP 9, which the system was first set up with) what I

Sound like Chipmunks on Media P.11
I can't find any answers, Why my mediaplayer11 sudenly play like Chhipmunks?
The sound is terrible..... but not when i play a disc or dvd.... it's the
downloaded music that suddenly sounds like chipmunks!!!! Please can anybody
help me with my problem???? im using XP not vista..

How to know media type in DSP plug-in
Hello All,
I am receiving YUY2 format of data in DSP plug-in. I want my DSP plug-in to
work only when WMV contents are played and not in case of MPEG1 or MPEG2.
In case of MPEG1 or MPEG2 media playback I want DSP plugin not to be used.
Since I am DSP plugin level I am getting raw video format i.e. YUY2. Due to
this I am not able to differentiate if WMV or MPEG1 or MPEG2 file is played

won't stream
I used to be able to select the WMP icon on an internet site where I listen
to the program, or archived programs. I updated to WMP11 yesterday, and when
I select the WMP icon on the website, a window pops up quickly (so quickly I
can't see what window it is) and disappears, and nothing changes. I can't
play either the streaming or the archived files.

no sound
I cannot hear any sound from either an audio or video file. The same holds
true for cd's. I tried reinstalling media player 11. I did a system restore.
still no luck. It work about two weeks ago. Can anyone offer any assistance?...

Windows Media Player allways pops up after standby
When the computer is activated from standby Windows Media Player always pops
up also when it has been closed.
I have tried to set the controls obviously related to Media Player to manual
in Computer administration with no result.
It is not a big problem but annoying when you just want to continue your
work without having to close the Windows Player window occupying the whole
screen.

No Audio
I have recently (like 3 days ago) got a new pc with Visat. I was happily
listening to music using WMP and itunes, watching videos etc. Then suddenly
ALL audio has stopped! I have checked the audio drivers and even installed a
vista codec pack and still no audio. The error message says that the file
must be currupt but surely not all my audio files that I had been listening

Garbled Sound When Ripping CD's with WMP
When I try to listen to ANY sort of audio while ripping a CD in WMP 11 the
sound goes all crackly and garbled, this just started happening all of a
sudden and I don't now why. One second I was listening to the CD I was
ripping and the next the sound was all messed up. If I'm not ripping a CD
then the sound is just fine. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no

Multiple copies of the same songs
I have xp/pro with media player 11 with multiple listings of the same songs
for most of the artist listing. In some cases there are 4 duplications.
happens on my other computer with mp10. I delete them but they are like weeds
the keep comming back. i would like to know why it is happening so i can
prevent it in the future. oh and yes it is definately duplicating - i do not

End Process Does NOT Work
WMP10 froze after spending considerable time minimized while paused in the
middle of a video file. Clicking on it, using Alt-tab, and even
right-clicking and selecting restore and maximize had no effect. Going into
task manager and trying to end task also had no effect.
I went into the Processes tab and tried to End Process on wmplayer.exe and
