Media Player wont let power manager turn off monitor.
Please help!
Media Player, when playing music, wont let power manager turn off monitor on
laptop. Settings are for power manager, Scheme is portBLE/LAPTOP, turn off
monitor checked, in minute. Everything else works with power manager.
Don't know how to check for version of windows media player, but it was
working just a few days ago and now quit. Please help.

Windows Media Player Sharing Network Service
Hello,
I have noticed that the windows media player sharing network service was
setting a registry key nammed "BackgroundScanCompleteDate" (in
HKCR\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences) all the time (actually every
5 seconds).
As I am very eager to limit the disk access on my computer, I was wondering
if there was some registry key to set to change this update interval ?

I cannot see movie thumbnails pics anymore in Win XP's explorer folders
Hi all,
I have searched the net for a solution and found different topics but
until now my problem is unsolved.
I am using windows xp home edition with SP3 and for some reason I
cannot see movie thumbnail pictures anymore in windows explorer. It
are mainly wmv, avi and mpg files. The files are located on a cd-rom
and on my hard drive. Also, when I download a movie file from the

My Windows Media Audio files are disappearing!
I have recently developed an obsession with iTunes version 8 (sorry Windows
Media!) and proceeded to rip ALL my CD's to it. After nearly completing this
task (3 weeks of spending all my spare time sat ripping CD's) I happened to
go into WMP to check something only to find that various parts of my WMP
library had gone missing. Why is this? Surely they are 2 seperate programs

Media not found?
I was wondering what it means if an MP3 that was downloaded to WMP 11, for
vista, has no media found, according to WMP 11? Is this a bad thing, or
nothing to worry about. I found this out by adding a column that says media
info, and by the sound it will say "Found" or "Not Found"...

WMP won't read MP3 Player...
I'm trying to add songs to my MP3 player, but WMP won't even acknowledge that
i plug it in. it still says "connect a device". it's a brand new mp3 player,
i just got it today....any advice?...

WMP 10 video slower than audio
I just started having a problem playing video files. I tried a file that
played fine a week ago and now the video is slow and not in synch with the
audio. So I know it's not the file.
I tried the file in Nero Showtime and it plays fine there.
I have windows media edition 2002 sp3....

Can't find my post
I sent a question concerning not being able to view slides and hear music at
the same time on WMP 11. I got an email saying someone had responded, but
when I clicked on the link, I got a blank page and when I went back to the
forum I couldn't even find my post.

Help with Moving files
I moved my files onto a different hardrive, from my c drive to my d drive and
now it wont play my files, so my question is where do i move the files back
to to make them play again, can one of you just look at were your music files
are at on your computer. Im using windows vista.

Library problem
The library in WMP has gone haywire. It does not appear to be reading the
contents of my music properly - it appears to be completely mixed up. When
you search under any heading it appears to be almost chosing files at randon.
For example, if you look under artist the list of artists appears to be
correct. When I click on an artist only some of that artists songs come up,

Vista WMP 11 error code C00D116A
Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might need to adjust your
Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then
try lowering your screen resolution and color quality settings.
This is the error message i receive when playing DVD. I ve tried to change
the screen resolution but the problem is still same....

DVD Audio
I am trying to figure out how to rip the stereo audio track from a dvd. I
have a few concert dvd's that I'd like to load onto my pc and my mp3 player.
I've tried a few of the free downloads, but they really haven't worked. Does
anyone have any ideas on how to go about doing this?

Windows Media Center 6.0
I am running Windows Vista Premium, with Windows Media Center 6.0. Every time
I insert an audio CD into my computer WMC automatically opens. Is there a way
to stop it from being the default program for CDs? There are no options for
this under 'Setup'. I prefer using WMP not WMC.

WMP11 not working in Internet explorer 7 and firefox
Instead of getting Windows Media Player window on the website I get a blank
space with small red cross in top - left corner. It has been like that from
the moment I bought my laptop (with pre-insatlled Vista). The first time -

Media center (vista)
When I try to watch recorded tv in media center I get a message on a little
screen saying : Trial version expiration. no longer available for use??
Never had that before and if I change the system date back to before 2007 it
all works fine??

Cannot Play CNBC embedded video
CNBC plus (From the cnbc.com web site) embedded video plays fine in my XP
Media Center computer (with WMP 11), my XP Home computer (with WMP 11), but
not my Vista Business computer with WMP 11. The network settings under the
Tools->Options tab on the Vista Computer are the same as on the XP computers'
settings.

Playing DVD recorded with Windows DVD Player
Having recorded a DVD film with Windows DVD Player, I've found there's a
small intro before the actual film, which is a short 20sec clip from the
film. These clips often lead to the menu on a DVD, and then you select:
Start film, Select scenes, etc.

Sync to MP3 player w/multiple memory
I have a sansa mp3 player with an internal 8 gig memory and a micro sd slot
with an 8 gig chip. I would like to automatically sync to both memory
locations without duplicating songs across the two. Is there any way that
WMP can recognize both memory locations as one when doing a sync so that it
will automatically sync onto one memory location and then overflow onto the
next?
