WMP in XP-SP1
Can anyone tell me what is the highest version of WMP that works with XP SP1?
Due to other issues preventing me from installing SP2 or 3, I am pretty
limited in what applications I can upgrade. Unfortunately, this also limits
what tasks I can perform, and one of them requires WMP 9.0; but I want to
make sure it will work before I spend a lot of time trying to find it....

sync device problem
Hello,
I am syncing files from WMP 11 to my portable device (Sylvania SMPS4018). I
have no error problems and all the files are visible from the mp3 player when
I look through the computer (the files IN the player, not the library). The
problem is that there are some files that been succesfully transfered in the
player that won't appear at all when I try to play them... Any idea how I ...

Video Streaming
I cannot get video to stream from the internet. It tells me that it cannot
connect the media or the media is unavailable. Can anyone help me with this

Raid 5 array dissapeared on Vista 32/Intel 975X mobo
Hello,
my problem is that my Raid 5 array has been dissappeared while I was
installing an old disk back. Here's what happened:
1. I had a system Disk which had two partitions and Vista Ultimate 32
installed on C: partition. Also I had a 3 disk RAID 5 array controlled by

Cannot share audio media with WMP 11
I cannot get WMP 11 to share. I believe it "thinks" it is sharing but it
does not work. The share source computer is running XP Pro 2002 SP3.
Ultimately I am trying to stream to a Netgear MP101 which indicates there is
no server found. I am trying to get it to work with a laptop running Vista

Syncing into <device:>\Music without creating a tree
The device properties in Windows Media Player give me to option to 'Create
folder hierarchy on device' or not.
When I do select folder creation I get <device drive:>\Music\Artist\Album
create for each artist/album.
When I don't then all the files go into <device drive:>\
How can I just 'sync' everything as files into <device drive:>\Music?

WMP 11 on XP keeps undoing my changes!
Hi. I have a large number of music files (MP3 & WMA) stored on a large
external HD, which I wish to use on my XP PC. Unfortunately, the Media Player
lists are frequently without album titles and/or album art, and the song
titles are often in a format which I don't like (eg: Track "0" title "06 In

Move Pulic TV Folder to another drive
Hi all of you GENIUS's.
Here's a hard one for you. I cannot find a way to move the Public\TV folder
to another drive. I have a HTPC with 2 x 160g drives and 2 x 500g drive. the

Media center and IPTV
Hello!
My ISP besides internet and IPphone also provide me IPTV. VDSL modem splits
internet traffic in tcp/ip etc traffic and Multicast UDP. One port is
specialy configured for TV. This port receive multicast UDP mpeg-ts stream
according to my request for specific channel. This stream then go to STB

Media Center 2005 will NOT "Fit to CD/DVD"
I have NEVER been able to get this feature to work. I always get a message
telling me the DVD is full. What's the deal???

Re DVD Decoder
Can anyone give me a recomend a DVD Decoder that will also play DVR's I do
not have a DVD that records but I would like to play them back. I looked at
some that were compatible to Windows Media 11 and I was unsure if they would
just playback traditional DVD's only. Would I be better off buying it in a

File error problem - Multiple dvdrw drives hooked up
I have a Pioneer DVR116BK DVDRAM and a Optiarc DVDRW drive attached to the
same IDE cable as a Master/Slave setup on my pc.. I can see both drives and
any associated files on a audio cd thru windows explorer. When I try to play
an audio CD thru Media player all I get is a file extension error. The drives
both work fine when hooked up alone on the same cable as a Master only with

Opinion of encoded event quality
I encoded a local basketball tournament using 3 different bitrates

CD--Will not recognize extension???
When I insert a CD, WMP tells me that it doesn't recognize the extension and
it will try to play it. It has been doing this for a while and with many
different CDs. These CDs are not burned ones, they are originals.
Has this happened to anyone else? Not sure what to do...

Media Center version install problems
I go through the complete fresh install - no problem with format or install
up to the point the error prompt asks for the number 2 cd and it goes
through some loading and comes up with load #2 again and that it cannot find
IEXPLORE.EXE and I cannot find it on the disk either. Is this a common
problem or am I just out of luck?

Rip a digital library
Okay, I would like to rip my entire CD collection and create a digital
library so that all of the computers on our home network can populate the
media players (wmp & itunes) on their computers, and eventually on the family
room tv if we get some type (apple or wmp or ?) of a media player for it.
