Problems and solutions server
For several weeks I have been unable to connect to the Microsoft
Problems and solutions server. When I try to look at the solutions to
various reported problems, a message pops up saying that Explorer is
unable to connect. My DSL connection is good, and it doesn't matter
whether I am using IE or Firefox. Am I alone here, or is this a known
recent Microsoft problem?

with an error message that reads "the parameter is incorrect Ox80070057". I
have tried multiple blank DVDs and enabling and starting the Windows Shadow

System restore not working
Hi,
I am using Vista Home Premium 64, and up to now everthing has been
reasonable OK.
However every month ATI issues new drivers so this month I downloaded
them but when I tried December's to install them it said that they were
not 64 bit (drivers name is 8-12_vista64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_72275), they
also have Vista 32-bit which are called almost the same
(8-12_vista32_dd_ccc_wdm_72275).

severe problems with viewing video files as .mpeg, .avi, divx;...
When I try to watch them on the 32 or 64 bit Media Player the picture
stops after a few seconds and the other time the sound turns into noise.
I've tried to install the Vista Codec Pack and the x64 Components

Help, All fonts are gone
Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right place but I am depressed to solve this
sudden problem.
My windows update is scheduled every Sunday midnight. Now I woke up
today and found the laptop has already restarted after the updates.
I logged in and everything is weird, the font is set to "LCD" font and
every thing is just Win98-looks-like. I tried to check the fonts folder
and there is nothing ...

How to show favorite in alphabetical order in IE 7 ?
Hi all ...... I have had IE for many years now from IE 3, to IE7 with
Vista. I have always used other browsers but liked IE browsers also. The
biggest reason I don't like IE browsers is that the favorites are not
displayed in alphabetical order! Does any one know how to do this? "Or is
it just the way it is! " I usually have a ton of favorites and when I go to
click on a sight I save...

Sleep Problems/Blue Screens - I'm SO frustrated! Please help!
I'm posting this in a few places, so hopefully someone far smarter than I
will run across it. I'm at my wits' end and I can't get any assistance from
Microsoft or Toshiba on a two-week-old notebook! Here goes:
1) Two or three times, I've gotten a blue screen. The stop error message is
pfn_list_corrupt. Vista shuts down and pretty much restarts itself
normally. When the boot option ...

Grooming Windows Vista backup
Hi all...
I'm having problems with a client running Windows Vista backup. Their
external backup drive to which Vista is backing up data is filling up. Is
there any way to tell Vista to "groom" the data, removing older data to keep
the drive afloat? Or, is there way to have Vista completely reset the entire
backup set on a regular schedule?
Thank you!

Why don't animated pcs. play in Photo Gallery
Vista Home prem. 32 bit
In WinXP the animated pictures would play in what XP called Windows Picture
and Fax viewer. Now Vista has what it calls Windows Photo Gallery but the
animated pictures don't move, i.e. play! It displays them as a still photo.
I would think its for some safety reason? lol....... If anybody knows
anything about this please reply, thank you. ...Rob

I was just wondering as I checked the space used for System Restore; it
showed 82GB used space with 87GB reserved space for System Restore. I read
all about System Restore for Vista and this seems right, percentage wise,

cannot start) and I can't open Control Panel . I tried a System Restore but
the same problems persist. At this point I just want to get all my data off

Moving from folder to folder slow
Hello All
I've been reading a bunch of posts here about this problem.
It takes a few seconds to move from one folder to another when I am
logged in as myself. However, if I login as Admin, the movement from
folder to folder is instant, no pause at all.
This was an inplace upgrade from XP Professional SP3.
My system:
Vista Ultimate
CPU: Core 2 Duo 2.66
MEM: 2gb DDR2 800mhz (soon to be 4bg 1066...
