Problem accessing a shared folder
Here's my situation:
Three computers on a LAN:
Computer "A":
Vista Business
UAC turned off; no firewall
A "shared" folder (C:\AAA) with permissions set to allow full control
by Everyone
Computer "B":
Windows XPPro
From Windows Explorer, I can access the AAA folder (add, delete and
edit files) on computer "A" with no problem.
Computer "C":
Vista Business
UAC turned on

I am courtious as to why sometimes my Network Icon (the two Monitors) in the

64bit internet browser works, but 32bit aren't.
Hi All.
I'm not sure what caused this weird symptom. but I still doubt Avast!
anti-virus.

DHCP Problem
I cannot connect to the internet to sign in with my server (Softbank). I
apparently caused this problem by doing a hard shutdown when I was rushing to
go somewhere. The error message I keep getting is, "DHCP client service is
not running on this computer". After a suggestion, I've gone to Services at

Looking for: Vista Network Helper v1.x or HELP
I am experiencing very slow (7-11MB per second) transfers from a Vista
64 Box (SP1) to my FreeNAS box which runs FreeBSD a couple of feet away.
All Linux and BSD boxes can transfer, via FTP, between each other at
around 60-90MB/sec...which is more like it. This Vista box however, is a
bottleneck. All NIC's are Intel Pro 1000 via CAT 6 cable. I have each of

Vista ad hoc network problem
Main PC connects to Internet - OK
New laptop, trying to connect to internet via ad hoc arrangement with
network set up on PC
Both machines are running Vista Home Premium. Both have wireless cards..
Follow instructions and can connect to the main PC and access Public folders
and folders where sharing is enabled but cannot connect to internet.
Allow Other Users to Connect..etc. is ticked.

Vista can not see XP
Hi
I need some help with networking Vista and XP. Hopefully someone from this
forum can help me.

Unable to access Vista compuer from Vista notebook when VPN runnin
I have a home network with 2 XP computers, my Vista Enterprise notebook and

Vista File / Folder Sharing
Have just baselined all of my computers to Vista in a home network.
MAIN - Primary PC hardwired to router. Primary location for storing files
and for print sharing
KIDS - Wired connection to router.
LAPTOP - Wireless connection to router
All systems are in the same workgroup and I am not using user specific

Remote Desktop Q
How (is) it possible to re-boot a Vista PC remotely whilst connected
via Remote Desktop. On Win XP I used to Ctrl + Alt + End, but it
doesn't give me the option on Vista. Can it be done?
Also is it possible (it wasn't on Win XP), to re-log on the user
automically after you disconnect a session of Remote Desktop?

Vista Ultimate loses internet connection
Whenever Vista Ultimate sleeps it loses its internet connection.
Static IP.
Eventually it recovers but the wait is minutes long - or requires
intervention by running repair.
DNS isn't working
XP machine on same network works fine.
Vista U. machine works fine too - after it's "healed"
Time after time ........

Vista 64 network sees but can't use XP computer
I have a new computer with Vista 64 with a wired network to my XP computer.
The XP can see and read files on the Vista 64 computer but the Vista 64 sees

I have an xp desktop w/visa laptop I can see the workgroup through wireless
network but can't see printer I have it shared and was able to see on old

Vista 64 Bit Network Discovery Automatically Turns Off - Help
Just got an HP laptop with Vista 64 bit. My home network is working well
(have 2 XP machines and 2 Vista machines (one 32 bit and one 64 bit)).

Unable to print from Vista Home Premium to XP Home
At my house I have an XP Home pc and a Vista Home Premium laptop. I had
to get a new laptop because the old XP one died. The dead XP laptop did

Partially connected to the Internet?
This has happened four times in the last week to my Vista Home Premium

Can't connect new Vista Laptop to WLAN
I have a WLAN which is used by three clients, all running on XP. I use
WEP security, and MAC filtering. I have now bought a new Vista laptop
from HP, which can see the network, but when I try to connect, it tells
me it cannot connect because the signal is too weak - even when the

Can't create VPN connection in Vista
I'm trying to create a VPN-connection but it does not work. I follow all the

Network between Vista and Xp
Hi there
Im trying to network a Vista Laptop with an Xp desktop. Though the desktop
appears to be within the same network, when i try to open or access it from
the Vista Laptop it says there is no connection.

Vista Home Premium 64 - terribly slow internet
Hello all...
I just bought a new Asus laptop - Centrino 2, 4GB RAM, 1GB 9600M...and
the dreaded Windows Vista 64 bit.
The computer is flawlessly fast aside from the internet. I don't think
it's browser settings, as I've used both IE and Firefox... both download
just as slowly as the other. Also, Steam downloads just as slowly as the
two browsers as well. I get 400KB/s transfers on my XP machine...

Vista-to-Vista Ethernet
Hi all.
I have two PCs, each running Vista Business, which are connected by an
Ethernet cable.
I can see the Public folders in both directions but my own folders,
although visible in both directions, can only be accessed one way, say
from machine A to machine B. When I try from machine B, shared folders
are visible on machine A, but give "Access is denied" when I click on

Vista Bluetooth sync with Windows Mobile problems
Hi all, I hope someone is able to help. I cannot get WM5's ActiveSync to

Printer offline
I have Cannon printer connected to a Desktop Vista PC via USB. It is
networked to a Vista Laptop and an XP Laptop via wireless. Had it all
working fine for months but all of a sudden I get it's offline on the two
