Movie Maker can't import from my camcorder only parts of the tape
When I try to import into Movie Maker (Vista version) it only allows me to
import (capture) the entire tape. The dialog box actually asks if I want to
import the entire tape or only part- then the only option actually available
is to rewind the tape to the beginning and import all of it.

Corrupted JPEGs
Not sure if any of you guys can help me. I have many digital images and
upload them onto a USB 250gb drive before copying across to DVD. At some
stage recently the drive became corrupt and although I have managed to
recover 99% of the images on there, there are a few which are
greyed/partly greyed out.
Surfing the web offers up many software solutions, but I have yet to
find one that works.

Windows Photo Viewer
Hi all,
When I use Windows Photo Viewer I can't see a gif animated. So I set it up
to open gif in Internet Explorer. If I am clicking through the photos in a
folder, the gif will open up in Internet Explorer. When I have Windows
Photo Viewer open, and I can see all my photos and gif, and I go to the
bottom and click so I can see the following photo it doesn't open up gif in

Cannot copy my music from my computer to a portable MP3 player. Says error
0x80070057 parameter is incorrect. Also, the music saved on my "C" drive
will not longer allow me to open it. Says I do not have permission and I
have tried to give it permission as administrator and "everyone" and under my
own name....

Vista can't see a cd
Running vista home premium x64 on a toshiba A305-s6837
When i put an audio cd in it doesnt auto play or anything, if i open
itunes no disk shows up. When i open computer or try and explore the
disk it ejects saying insert disk. if i open windows media player it can
see the disk and play it. same for dvd's.

Streamed WMVs fail to load in Firefox
I recently bought a Dell Studio 15 with Vista, and since I've had it I have
not been able to watch WMVs streamed through the internet.
When I click a video, it comes up with a 'Video is Loading...' sign, and
then nothing happens.
I'm tearing my hair out with this, can anyone help?!...

Paint Error Message
When I try to save a project in Windows Vista Paint, I get the following
error message: "There is not enough memory or resources to complete
operation. Close some programs and then try again."
I don't have anything else running and this is a brand new Velocity Micro
desktop (it came with Vista already installed).
Any ideas on what is going on?

Sony DCR-HC21 not recognised by Vista
I have upgraded to Vista and my Sony DCR-HC21 is not recognised by my machine
any more, no "new hardware found" wizards.... nothing! I have it connected
via firewire into my Pinnacle 700-USB since I don't have a firewire
connection on my Dell which is less than a year old (yeah?! - I was just as
shocked!). Any idea how I could strangle Vista and force it to recognise my
camcorder?...

Windows Media Player 11 won't play DVDs
I've been having a problem with Windows Media Player 11 for a few months now
and I'm at a loss for figuring it out.
A few months ago, Windows Media Player decided to stop playing my DVDs.
Before this it had worked perfectly in both it and Windows Media Center.

Hi All ,
I’m new here & in need of help for a problem I have been trying to fix
for quiet some time .

iTunes 8 install probs on Vista Prem 64bit

WMV file won't play correctly
Hi all.
I've recently noticed that my Vista won't play the WMV file correctly.
It's jaggy, lots of stuck frames and delay with sound as if something
is wrong with the file but it happens with all WMV file. I tried to open
the file with other players such as MV2player, and Winamp but they all

Zune 3.0 causing the display driver to fail
I have two monitors that I use. When I run my zune software I usualy
put it on the second screen. After awhile of inactivity the zune 3.0
software will go into a "screen saver mode" and show pictures of the
artist. After a few minutes of this my second screen will go black and
it will give me the warning that my display driver has fail and

DVD Maker Fails 98.9%
Hi,
I'm hoping this is the best place to ask this question...
I#m using DVD maker on Vista Ultimate to burn a DVD from a WMV file created
using Movie Maker.
The encoding seems to work but once it reaches 98.9% (burning phase) it
fails and spits out the DVD. If I examine the DVD then it has created a
folder with a series of .VOB files. The DVD will actually play in media

Windows DVD maker- AVI files are corrupt
I burn alot of movies on my DVD maker and they are all AVI files, the
other day i went to go burn another one and it said the file was corrupt
then i tried using another preivous file that i burned before and it
said that was corrupt as well. What can i do to burn an AVI file? or fix
this issue?

Recently, ALL of the pictures and files on my camera have been imported
on my computer. Usually, only the new pictures were imported. Are there

No sound after unplugging USB headset.
I know Vista has an issue with realizing when you unplug USB
applications, but I don't know how to solve the problem.
I used to use a usb headset, but recently have switched to one that
simply plugs in to the headset and microphone port. However, after
unplugging the USB headset no sound comes out of the speakers or the new
headset, with all sound settings maxed and nothing muted etc.

Missing Pictures Folder (Vista Home Basic)
Hey guys,
My friend has a problem that really has me stumped.
Recently, my friend (Running Vista Home Basic) discovered that her
pictures folder has vanished into thin air.
The link on the start menu does not work, and the folder does not
appear in the Users folder or Recylcing bin.
My friend is very stressed out and wants to be able to recover the
