64 Bit Movie Editing
I am new to Vista and x64, but so far I am impressed. Currently I am
using the Windows Movie Maker to do my video editing and it really
rocks. Just curious...are there any other video editing tools which can
take advantage of the 64 bit multi-processor environment?
Look at how Vista distributes the Movie Maker load over 8 processors:

Music folder won't open
The last couple days I can't open music. I just get the blank window
saying "windows explorer not responding". I can open and see them in
itunes ok, but not music. I had been adding quite a few new files and
trying to organize the folder jsut before this started. I've ran disk
cleaners, defragged, virus checks, and still nothing. Anyone know an
answer? Thanks.

Codecs
Hi,
1. how can I configure which codecs are going to be used with particular
media types (Vista)?
The problem is that if there is installed many various media softwares there
are many codecs
for the same content and I do not wish that. The applications can have
problems, such as
Windows DVD Maker that can properly work if the right codec is used.

How To Edit Video Files To Rip
I'm not having success figuring out how to select which files I want to
rip from a DVD to my pc. This is my first experience in doing this and
I'm thinking about in the same term I would ripping a cd...before
ripping you see the names of the files and select which ones you want to
rip. I have not found a way to do this either with WMP11 or with a dvd
decrypter. All the files show but tags like VT...

No Audio in Windows live Movie Maker beta
I have imported a vob. When I play it in movie maker, there is no

Media 11 crashes after CPU upgrade
My Vista Ultimate hardware just went from 2 GB RAM to 4 GB and the CPU was
upgraded to an Intel E8500. Before upgrade Media 11 was running flawlessly -
after upgrade it crashes about ten seconds after loading. What is the fix,
please?

Photo Gallery missing
I use Photo gallery to scan in documents.
Had a short cut in the tool bar ; but , can't find it !!
The program is not in the start menu any longer ?
How can I either find the program or re-install it ?
Could th emost recent update caused this ?

Frustrated
Despite saving video projects during production, when I reopen the
project for fine-tuning, most if not all of the imported images have
disappeared. I believe in redundancy so I usually back up my projects
on an external drive and/or on a DVD. I just spent three days on a
project, only to find every imported image is missing. Any idea why
this happens and if so, the fix? I own Vegas, but it do...

Windows DVD Maker fails at 99%
Every time I try to burn a DVD using Windows DVD Maker, I get a failure
at 99%.
The status window is at "Finishing Disc. Please wait. 99.0%"
The error window simply states "Cannot create the DVD. An error
occurred when burning the DVD."

Photo gallery: importing from usb scanner: access denied
After scanning a picture om my usb scanner, using windows photo gallery,
the program asks me to give a name to the scan before importing it.
It results in an error message: access denied.
I use the standard configurations option for labels and maps
any suggestions please,

WMP no video
I am not getting anyvideo in Windows Media player Ver 11.0.5721.5230, only
sound.
This issue is not true for mplayer2.exe it works perfectly.
I have all latest updates from WIndows update.
I have tried to Rollback to WMP 10 and have reinstalled WMP11 from microsoft

Windows Media Player cuts tracks short when burning
Hi, when I burn audio/data CDs which I have always used windows to do
(not WMP) over the past year, the results have been fine. Vista now
seems to hand it over to Media Player to burn and the result for audio
CD's is the last 5-10 seconds are cut off of each track. Data CDs seem
okay.
Is there any way to stop Media Player taking over? On another note;

WMP11 Not showing ripped music in Library
If I rip a CD using WMP11 to a folder on a network hard drive the
ripping process works fine and I can see the file where it should be on
the hard drive. However, the albumn refuses to show in the Library of
WMP. I have gone to tools, options, library an monitor folder and told
it where to look but the albumn is not shown. Anyone know why WMP
refuses to show the albumn in the library?

PrepareINF Error2 cannot install a webcam
Hi i have a GE 98064 easycam and i have Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bits
unfortunally and i never expect that i will not be able to install this cam

Vista MCE Recorded videos - 704x480
I've just recently started toying with MCE and have discovered an issue that
appears to be widely reported on the internet but no one has a answer or

Hello,
Can anyone recommend a freeware download manager that will allow me to

Album art & folder pictures...
I have lots of music folders. Most have the correct album art -- though I
don't know where it comes from or how it gets displayed -- but some have
pictures that have nothing to do with what's in the folder. I have

Changing Photo Gallery Default startup mode
I am using Windows Photo Gallery as a simple image viewer. When I
double-click on an image from Explorer, Photo Gallery starts up assuming I
want to be able to scroll through all images in the folder. It therefore
takes a long time to start, as it builds a list of all images in the folder
(and that can take a long time if the folder is remote and has a lot of
images).
