windows movie maker:black preview screen
i am creating a video for our school's banquet,and everytime i add a
transition to any slide, the preview screen goes black and i have to get rid
of the transitions to see a picture. Sometimes even doing that doesn't work.
Anyone know what to do? i really need these transitions to make it look good....

Selecting folder each time jpg is saved?
Thanks in advance for your help... I think I may be missing the big picture
here,but in XP, if you downloaded multiple jpgs to a folder, the OS
automatically defaults to that folder when the "save picture as" pop-up is
displayed... I didn't have to select the folder each time I saved a new jpg
image... It seems with my Vista setup, when I select "save picture as" I have

ALBUM ART
I like to use windows media player to organize my music but i like to do it
myself. i found that if i want the files to show the album art i need to go
and get it my self and paste it but i can't figure out how to change it... i
tried to just paste over it but if i open the folders the music is in i still
see the old art and so does itunes and other programs... does anyone know how

Recording from Tape Cassette to Wav or MP3
I am in the process of converting my tape cassette recordings to WAV or MP3
files by using the line-in from my taope recorder to my sound card, however,
while recording, I cannot hear any sound from my speakers. On my old PC,
with Windows XP, I was able to hear what was being recorded, however in
Vista, I can hear nothing.

pictures
I have recently upgraded to vista premium home..........the program kept all
my pictures but when I try to access them it says that I do not have
permission? I can see there is a lot of photos in the folders but they are
not accessible........
any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated

Setting duration times using wds movie maker
Hi I have been putting together a movie using photo's and music for my
mother, using wds movie maker. I have now run the dvd through and the
duration of the pictures needs to be changed. I went into tools and changed
it there but it doesnt seem to be wroking can you help?

Installing a digital camera
On my Vista Home Premium PC I can't install my Sony digital camera, I
downloaded a new driver for the camera. In the folder scanners and cameras
in configuration the camera keeps showing up as a "Xerox scanner"!
Installing this camera on my XP laptop wasn't a problem.

Live TV - no signal ?
Hi,
Windows Media Center insists there's no TV signal for any channels. I only
just got this computer plugged in so it's probably something trivial but I
don't know what. The aerial is plugged directly into the computer.

Windows Media Player Cannot Access the File
Every time I try to open up a video in WMP, it get this error saying:
"Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use; you
might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy
settings might not be correct."

Buzzing sound..media player
There is no sound coming from my media player, just a buzz from my speakers
(headphones). I have removed my earphones from my speakers and plugged them
directly into the computer - still no joy! It is probably, I hope, something
simple as I'm no fundi. Help!!...

Vista Media Centre and ripped DVD?
I have Windows Vista Premium and Media Centre all set up. I also have a lot
of music DVD's I have bought an ripped to my hard drive.
When I put the DVD in a drive Media Centre see's it and plays perfectly,
but, I cannot get it, in any way to see that there are DVD's stored on my

Purchased music through msn music store!
i have recently purchased a load of downloads from the msn music store,
windows media player 11 will not play these files, although none of my other
music has been affected! Why have i not been given the relevant license to
play this music on purchase and how do i get them to play?

No Sound
My Dell laptop with Windows Vista is docked on a Dell docking station. I am
unable to get sound from headset or speakers built into laptop. I have tried
plugging headset into laptop and into docking station with no success. I do
not have external speakers hooked up.

Also Problem with Thumbnail view (Windows Vista)
I try to view pictures on a CD using the Explorer (Windows Vista). I have
found out that you can change the size of the thumbnail but all I get is a
picture of the programm. I have also cleared the checkbox next to "Always
show icons, never thumbnails" as well.
However, nothing changed. What else do I need to do in order to view the

X-M Radio Pioneer Inno and Windows Media 11
Hello Technicians,
I cannot see the songs that I recorded off XM Radio using the Pioneer Inno in
the Windows Media 11 songs section. I check the Inno and the songs are there.

Green Preview Window
When I import either a DVR-MS file or video direct from a camera the preview
is green so it's impossible to do any editing. The thumbnails display
correctly. When I did a test export the resulting WMV file plays perfectly
in Media Player. I've tried disabling all the codecs in the options menu and
trying each individually and some options will give me a black preview as
opposed to green....

Windows Photo Gallery - How to import tagging information from Ado
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone out there can advise how tagging information from
Adobe Photoshop Album/ Adobe Photoshop Elements/ Adobe Lightroom catalogs.
Windows Photo Gallery appears to be everything I need for managing my
digital photos and movies, but I have no clue on how to import/ export
tagging information from other softwares.

If I want to write my own program to convert DVD files into .wmv, .mpg,
..avi, and so on, is there a book or website that can help me get started

Movie Maker imports video from my HD camcorder and thinks its audi
I have connected my Canon HV20 HD camcorder to my vista machine using
Firewire. It can see the device and I am able to import video from the
camcorder. When I am finished with the import, it says that it imported the

Photo Gallery DVD/CD import
The Options / Import allows you to specify the import behavior for DVD/CDs as
well as cameras and scanners, but I can't figure out how to import from a CD.
Actually, I want to import from a backup device onto my new Vista computer.
