Digital Image Suite on Vista Home Premium
I really like the editing controls of Digital Image suite from our XP
system versus the Windows Photo Gallery of our Vista Home Premium
system. I had moved all of our pictures over to the Vista "Pictures"
folder, installed Digital Image suite, and everything looked good. We
were able to view and edit pictures, we did not attempt to remove
Windows Photo Gallery or our Office Photo manager.

Movie Maker not importing avi file
For the past year I've taken videos with my Kodak digital camera,
coverted the MOV files to AVI using RAD video tools, and then edited the
AVIs using Windows Movie Maker, with no problems.
Suddenly today, when I try to import an AVI file to WMM, I cannot, and
I get the message "XYZ.avi could not be imported" with no other error
explanation.
What could the problem be? Thanks for any help you can...

Extracting Video From DVD
Is it possible, using one of Vista's media programs (Movie Maker, DVD Maker
or Media Player),
to extract a portion of video from a dvd and save it to a popular video type
such as wmv or
avi or something similar?
I'm not very aquanted with this so I need some help doing this.

Saving Pictures
Bear with me. Newbie at Vista.
On my last computer, all I had to do was hover the mouse over a picture
and an prompt would appear in the upper left hand corner to either save,
print or ( I forget the third option). Why can't I do that anymore? Or
if I can, how do I get this crazy thing to do it again?

Windows Movie Maker.... unable to drag and drop files into timelin
I have vista version of WMM. It launches no problem and I can make an movie
entirely just using titles animation and transition effects. But cannot drop
files into the timeline. I can import all file types and drag them but they
wont drop into the timeline. The same happens with audio files...

Playing internet music files
With XP, when I clicked on a music file on the internet, I received an
option of playing or downloading. With Vista, I can only download.
There is no "Play" option. Is there a setting where I can change this?

Music listed individually now in Artisit folders?
I don't know what I did but all my music used to be displayed
individually by song title and now all my songs are grouped in folders
identified by the artist. So now if I want to access a song I have to
click on the artist folder, which then takes me to the album folder then
I get the actual song. Can someone help me figure out how to just list
my songs by themselves again without grouping them i...

xbox 360 media sharing stops
xbox 360 media sharing stops when i try to play a video the is on my
external hard drive. the xbox can play any video or song on my laptop
hard drive but i get an error on my tv from the xbox saying that the
connection with the computer has been interupted and an error on the

can't load media into Windows Movie Maker storyboard
Windows Movie Maker (version 6.0.6000.16386) runs OK on my Vista Home Premium
machine and I can import media into a collection and view it in the preview
panel, but when I try to drag an item into the storyboard the item does not
appear there. I have tried .AVI and .WMV movie files and .jpg stills but
cannot load up the storyboard or timeline.

Folder icon
my User folder icons are not appearing as they are used to be..they
appear the 'boring' regular yellow folder icon instead of the 'fresh and
trendy looking' icons..i don't know what went wrong..
i know it's not such a big problem..but it's so annoying..! :confused:

How can I get the right view in Windows Photo Gallery?
Recently, my hard drive died and I just got another one. But now, ever
since I've had the new hard drive, whenever I try to open pictures in
Windows Photo Gallery, it doesn't open the picture right.
Normally when I try to save pictures from my email, all I need to do is

Default Save Destination
I'm having a problem saving files from a webpage that I didn't
experience with XP when trying to save a picture from a website. I have
an external hard drive but when I am on a website and right click a

Windows DVD Maker? ... Help!
Hi,
I am new to the whole "dvd making" process and just made a photographic
slide show using pictures and one song. I wanted to upload it to
facebook but it does not support the WSDM file. I then tried to do it on
youtube which also declined the file due to its format.

Thumbnails won't display in folder view
My thumbnails won't display correctly in folder view. I have recovered
from Adware-Alert attack and feel my machine is clean ( Ran Malwarebytes

Unable to Open pic
Recently had a Computer problem and for no reasons I had been asked to
reintall Norton AntiVirus. Then my com sorta had flashing digits and
words during the restart. After it I had problems open a picture, When i

yahoo messenger and sound and different user accounts
Dear All,
my yahoo messenger (v9.0) can create sounds in one user account but not in a
different user account.
Anybody any clue?
I already reinstalled yahoo messenger.
Sounds are not disabled in either user account -- windows sounds still are
fine.
I also found the slider for yahoo messenger sounds and it is at maximum.

photo slide gadget
i am having problems with my photo slide gadget. when i click on it the
other existing gadgets moves down to make room but there is nothing
there. the only thing i see is the X for closing the gadget. there isnt
any wrench to fix. i have tried deleting my gadget then restoring it and
it still doesnt work. any clues what i am not doing correctly? thanks!

Windows Media Encoder 9- works with Vista Ultimate's Movie Maker?
