XP in place upgrade, networking issues
Hi,
I upgraded my Windows XP SP2 installation on my HP nc6320. I'm using
Checkpoint secure client for VPN. After the upgrade I installed "Checkpoint
VPN-1 SecuRemoteSecureClient NGX HFA EA". Furthermore I noticed that with
Virtual PC 2007 I can not select a Network interface. Anyone an idea, apart
from reinstallation ?

Vista RC 1
I installled RC 1, having no idea that it would expire today. I want to
upgrade to the real Vista Ultimate. I bought it online and as it down loads

installing Vista OEM ultimate over a previous Vista OEM ultimate?
Hi,
I've got a new PC, which suddenly lost the 8600GTS graphics card on it and
started coming up as a standard VGA adaptor with 4MB of memory lol. Anyway i
tried sorted the drivers for the card, couldn't find it so i thought i'd
reinstall vista see if that did any... It moved the old install over as
Windows_old and tells me I can still see the files but obviously doesn't boot
that old...

Installin XP and Vista images on same PC
Hello,
I have an XP ghost image of a PC that had only XP installed.
Also, I have a Vista ghost image of another PC that only had Vista
installed.
Now I need to install both images on two partitions of a new PC.
So, I put Vista image on partition 1 and XP on partition 2.
Vista loads ok but I can't get XP to load. I followed the instructions given

Error Code 0x80070241
Vista Ultimate 32 bit - I'm trying to do an "upgrade install" from my
original OEM DVD... The install fails on copying files with the Error:
0x80070241
The message says... "Windows cannot copy files... ... Files may be corrupt
or missing..."
I've been getting BSOD's right and left... BAD POOL HEADER, MULTIPLE IRP
COMPLETE REQUEST, MEMORY MANAGEMENT, IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL... all RAM...

Messenger Live and Norton IS Vista
I can only get Web Messenger to sign in on Vista PC with Norton IS 07
installed. Messenger Live will not sign in. On screen help indicates problem
is most likely with Firewall settings in NIS. Turned firewall off, changed '
allowed sites' setting but no joy. Used Norton Web chat line and they deny

Problems upgrading
I'm trying to upgrade from XP Home to Vista Ultimate 32-bit. I've run the
Upgrade Advisor several times and it always tells me that there are no
issues. It does tell me that the drivers for the ethernet adapter and the
sound card need to be updated once Vista installs.

Collecting Information Delay
HELP! I'm trying to upgrade to Vista Premium. When it begins, it goes thru
the "collecting information" stage - but I think I'm having a problem. This
is taking hours! I stopped the installation as nothing seemed to be

parrallel install
I forgot my password to business and can't hack my way into the system. I'd
like to do a parallel install to c:\win to get access to my file system but
I can't seem to find out how to do this with my install cd. I've tried both
a windows anytime upgrade cd along with my vista business upgrade cd and
they both seem to only want me to upgrade.

question about language setup of window vista premium
i have a friend that wanna buy a toshiba laptop.
model TOSHIBA Satellite A135-S4527.
however he cannot read english.
so my question is will the system be able to change the language from
english to chinese?
do i need to install additional language to do that?

Sysprep/Vista problem with a Dell Latitude D630
Looking for thoughts on this...
Faculty member bought a D630. The only driver needed for vista was
the graphics driver -- an "Intel GM965 Express Chipset Family" driver.

I purchased an OEM copy of Windows Vista 64 Ultimate. I have only used it
on one computer. I have needed to reinstall this copy a few times now, and I

Ultimate Install Hard Drive not Found
I am trying to install Ultimate in MSI P6N Diamond and Ultimate is unable to
locate the SATA HDD to install the OS on. I am installing from a SATA DVD
drive and install program boots up fine but unable to locate the HDD. Using
Command Prompt I was able to access the drive and format but still is unseen
in the Vista Install. I also installed the Nvraid driver but still wouldn't
continue....

Windows Integrated (ZIP) Compression/Decompression feature
I installed a 3rd party compression utility (RAR, I think) and didn't like
it. So, I uninstalled it. However, now the built-in Vista ZIP
compression/decompression features are completely missing. No Send To ->
Compressed File or Extract option in Windows Explorer. What's up? How do I

Easy Transfer is not EASY
Okay, I got a new laptop and I tried this "Easy" transfer thing to get

Upgrading Memory
I am running a 64bit system on a Asus board (A8N SLI Deluxe Motherboard) with
AMD x2 3800+ dule Core Processor.
I have 2x 1Gb Dual Chanell pc3200 ddr400 Geil sticks in slots 1 & 3 when I
put the same type memory in slots 2 & 4 I get a windows error that wants me

Can't install some programs
I can't install (or uninstall) more than 1 program that I know runs under
Vista. Vista run fine, but, for example googletoolbar won't install. I get
Installer errors 2502 and 2503. On others I get windows installer not
installed correctly. What's the fix? Can I repair or remove\reinstall the
