Enlarged text, windows messd up
Hello everyone,
I increased the text size using the "change the size of text and icons"
option in Vista's "Ease of Access Center". I set a "custom DPI scaling" of
192. This text size is perfect for us, however here's the problem.
Certain kinds of windows are now so big they go off the screen. They won't
let me resize them! I cannot reach the "OK" button to click it.

Is Vista Repair possible
I have been playing with a variety of installation scenarios, one thing I
haven't figured out is a vista repair. Is it possible to repair vista from
the os disc similar to xp home/pro?

upgrade business to ulimate?
My situation is that i currently have Vista Business that was provided to me
for free through school by the MSDNAA. I would prefer to have Ultimate, and
recently got a new processor, alot more 4gb of ram etc, and Vista Business
wont address all my ram and such. It only shows that I have 3gb of ram. I'm
assuming this is because I have a 32bit operating system. So I want to go up

Sidebar Gadgets default user or GPO settings
I want to install a sidebar gadgets and have it used by everyone who logs
into the computer.

Download Stalling
Installed Vista home premium and compatible norton antivirus product -
nothing else at this point. No issues until tried to download norton updates
via live update - starts downloading fine and then stalls some way through.
Can just select one small download and works fine but anything above about
600k (varies) it just stops. Seems to be auto upadating the windows software

Dual Boot Vista Ultimate 64-BIT & 32-BIT
I bought a lap-top with Vista Ult 64-BIT pre-installed only to find
Australia's major ISP Telstra does not support 64-BIT for internet access.
The lap-top vendor has supplied a separate copy of Vista Ultimate 32-BIT for
me to install. The lap-top has 2 separate drives. Can I run the two platforms
- one on each drive as a dual boot configuration. If so would appreciate any

MCI error message
Im trying to install an Instant Immersion language program on my computer.
After i start to play it it pops up an error code : "Systerm Error:MCI
Error:there is no driver installed on you system" ... If i need a driver
where can i get it? Someone help please!!! I moving to germany in 7 months

WinPE 2.0 connection to web service
I am developing an application that has to run under WinPE 2.0. The
application communicates to a web service that needs NTLM
authentication. I am using the XMLHTTP control in a C++ application
to handle the communication. Under WinPE 1.x this works fine and
authentication is negotiated - the world is good. Under WinPE 2.0, I

Reformatting
I have gotten some viruses on my computer and I have done rescans on
everything but I think it went too deep to recover from. Some issues I was
having are the freezing of my computer and I play WOW and during the game it
will give me an error of 132. Well, like I said, I ran virus scans and

Help...New Volumes
I created 2 New Volumes...at different times to create partitions for dual
boot with Windows XP and Vista. One (F:) is 67.51 GB and the other is
3.39GB. What do I do? I'm sure I need to delete one but which one the
3.39GB or the other? I frequently get a message "Low Disc Space (F:)"...

Ok, My Ipaq worked great on XP. Now I done a clean install of Vista. I have

HELP: Install Language Pack
I'm tryin' to install English Language Pack in a Windows Vista Ultimate with
Italian default language. It doesn't work and I receive the CODE2 error (or
WindowsUpdate_00000002 WindowsUpdate_dt000) and I find a solution or an error

Run As
I have local admin rights to the PC but the one application we run at work
needs to be run as a special user. In the past I would run the application
with run as and it worked just fine.

Telnet Server Difficulties
Tried turning the Telnet Server on.
[Control Panel : Programs and Features : Installed Updates : Turn Windows
Features on or off]
The process appeared to work, but I cannot get the system to accept telnet
connections from another system, and can find no way to set the server up to

Remote Desktop Web Connection for Vista
On July 28, 2003 Tony Northrup (then a Windows XP Expert Zone Community
Columnist) wrote a superb piece on how to set up Remote Desktop Web
Connection with Windows XP.
Does anyone know if a similar article exists for Vista, or, indeed, if RDWC
works with Vista and if so, how the host gets configured.

Using BDD and Security Patches
Hello, I am using BDD 2007 and I have a base image of Vista Enterprise.
Microsoft released yesterday some security patches that effect Vista and
Office. How can I "inject" those into my image without having to deploy the
image, apply the patches, and then reimage. Can I do this in off-line mode?

iTunes v7.2 Install Error
I've tried to resolve this issue for the last few hours and I need help. When

Disabled hardware in XP
Hi,
Due to some faulty hardware in a PC i'm upgrading from Win XP professional,
the hardware has been disabled.
Is the hardware re-enabled during an upgrade to Vista Business 32bit?
I know that this was the case when upgrading from '98 to 2000, it was "by
design" that the hardware tables weren't kept, is it the same here?

Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 for Windows Vista
I cannot get this to install. I have a pretty reasonable, brand new Dell
machine. When I download the file and run installation it spins for several
minutes with a message about loking for a driver for an unknown device
(Cingular 2125). The it flashes a message about a successful installation
but nothing is there ... no program under Start-Programs ... nothing happens
when I plug in...

Changing registry permissions
I have a 727 PhotoSmart camera and when trying to install the photo program
from the CD that came with the camera, I get the message that this program
does not have access to the registry. Then this message
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\ENUM. I am using Vista Home
Premium. Can anyone help me get this installed?
