Activated .. maybe I shouldn't have?
I bought a copy of Vista Home Premium for the wife.
I built a new PC for her from components from 2 yr old P4s.
I acivated Vista, no probs.
But, I now realise:
1. I cant put her 2nd HDD into this PC (no space!) and she 'needs' that 2nd
drive as it holds all her data...kept separate from applications and O/S on
disc 1 and
2. The motherboard in the PC I built wont support Aero (not en...

with any hardware problems other than my Sound Blaster Live sound card, the
install went fine it copied the files ok and did all the things it was meant
to do, but got to the point after the reboot to where you see the green bar

Multiple Accounts (Profiles)
Shortly after introduction I bought an HP with VISTA premium installed. I
originally set up three "profiles" for wife, personal (primary) and business.
When I clicked on Windows Mail a box in mid-screen asked me to click on
which account (profile). Easy and no probs. Meantime, blue screen probs
surfaced and HP restored computer to original factory settings. After
re-creating each ac...

When I start my computer I get an "array index error"
I´ve got a brand new VAIO computer. Since the very first time I started it
the first thing on screen is an error box. At the top it says "Entice" and
then, "Array index error" and an "ok" option. What is it. Besides, I don´t
know if it is because of the same error, but the desktop gets sometimes
crazy, I can´t manage the windows and the names of each windows get erased,
what can it be...

Dual Booting Vista Home Premium with XP
I've read the instructions for dual-booting Vista/XP. I have 2 hard drives
(SATA); the one with Vista is a 400 Gb with 80 Gb for Vista and another
partition for the rest. The second is an 80 GB drive.
I'd like to install my XP on the second hard drive. Do I just point to that
drive when installing XP and follow the installation instructions, followed
by the VistaBootPRO actions.
Can I sp...

Installing VistaBootPro on XP?
You regulars know that questions about installing XP after
Vista are very common. The major problem is that Vista's
boot manager needs to be re-installed afterwards to allow
dual booting between XP and Vista.
Using VistaBootPro seems to me the easiest way for a newbie
to reinstall the Vista boot manager, but that same newbie
is not able to boot back into Vista after installing his
new XP...

Motherboard Replacement and Vista
Howdy, Folks,
When putting a new motherboard in a system, in previous versions of Windows
it was possible to do a repair installation by booting from the CD. This
prevented losing system settings and having to reinstall applications. See:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/824125/en-us
However, there is no similar article for Vista and, before I replace a
motherboard, I wanted to kno...

Home Premium-Upgrade Install
Hmmm...OK, my desktop will not read the install disk; after about 5 min of
the drive trying to read it it just reads as "DVD-ROM", and cannot open.
When you check the properties is says that there are 0 bytes used and 0 bytes
free. (It is a 32-bit running system, x86 processor and plays regular DVDs
fine). Laptop...installs just fine. Untill the last part of install,

Windows VBscript 5.6
I had a problem loading a HP compatability file for VISTA, for my New
scanner, the HP Technical person suggested I download Windows VBScript 5.6
because of the error code 2738. The instruction stated to go to Microsoft
and download this file for your computer. Their is not a VBScript 5.6 for
Vista only for XP, 2000, 98 and the like. Will downloading the file for XP

Changing Boot Partition
Hey all...
I originally installed my Vista install on a secondary (logical) partition
as a dual boot with XP (in case i wanted or needed to go back).
I have now been satisfied enough with Vista to want to get rid of XP. Only
problem is that Vista's bootmanager is (i think) on the XP partition.
How can i move the bootmanager on to the same partition as Vista, so that i
