Win XP/Vista dual boot reinstallation.
have a windows xp / windows vista dual boot setup. The Vista edition is Home
Premium. Now this is my work laptop and we have purchased Vista Business at
work. I was thinking of a way to upgrade Home Premium to Business. Is this
possible. Any time upgrade only allows to go to Ultimate. I was thinking of
doing a reinstall, but how do i go about doing this ?

Installing Vista Home Premium with Vista Business CDs
Hi, I have a valid licence for Vista Home Premium that came with my new
laptop. However, for business purposes, I had to purchase and install a
clean versino of Vista Business. I would now like to use the valid licence
of Home Premium that came with my laptop on my home desktop but I do not have

Changing language [Korean to English]
Hi!
I'm not the best with computers and I tried to solve the problem myself, but
failed...
My dad bought me this TX series laptop [VGN-TX55L/W] from Korea. I want to
change the language to English and I tried all of the suggestions, changing
all the language settings to English, but everything is still in Korean!!

Office compatibility with different language OS
I'm considering purchasing a new computer in Japan which has the Japanese
version of Vista loaded onto it. I was considering buying the English
version of office once I returned home. Is the software compatible? Or am I
better off
purchasing the Japanese version of Office to avoid compatibility issues?...

Installer Issue
I am running Windows Update for Vista Business 64Bit and get this error
message when running windows updates. I just attached a PDA, and, couldn't
get ActiveSync to install. "The Windows Installer Service could not be
accessed. This can occure if the Windows Installer is not correctly
installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance" Any thoughts???...

Error upgrading to Vista Ultimate
Howdy,
I'm trying to upgrade from XP Pro to Vista Ultimate, and seem to be hitting
a fantastic BSOD. I admittedly do not really know what I'm doing, so please
be kind.
I get to the very end of the setup process, then land the
"IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" error. It is the "STOP: 0x0000000A (0x00000000,

Easy transfer/PCMover
Stupid question: Is it "transfer/move" or "copy"?
IOW, I don't want to lose the files on my desktop that I want to "copy" to
the new notebook if I run Easy Transfer, or even PCMover.
Same question with regard to the easy transfer "companion" that does the
programs also?

Re-Installing Windows Vista
I recently bought a new pc, with Vista Home Basic pre installed. Due to a
Virus i got i had to wipe the system and re-install vista. Now when i try and

Can we use WIM IMages and PE2.0 for XP images?
HI,
We are using WDS with WIM images for Vista deployments, but we still need
some XPs until we upgrade our hardware.
Can we create a WIM image from an XP installation? If so, can we use PE2.0
to apply it?
Is there any WP paper that describes the steps required to do so?

Removing Norton Protection
Now that my free trial period of Norton Protection (etc.) is over, I
uninstalled it and LiveUpdate using the standard Vista uninstall
facilities. Lots of folders and Registry entries remained.
Then tried using the latest Norton Removal Tool, which is supposed to
remove ALL bits and pieces. No visible improvement -- still have a
lot of residual Symantec folders and Registry entries hangin...

Microsoft Greetings 2001 on Vista Home Premium
I have tried to load the program Microsoft Greetings 2001 on a new HP with
VHP. I get the message: "MDAC was updated on your system. After your system
restarts, setup will continue Microsoft Greetings 2001." The machine shuts
down, restarts, but installation does not continue. It just goes through the
beginning of the install process again and installs MDAC again. How do I

Vista Home Premium to Ultimate Upgrade - NEW Dell
I've got a screaming new Dell XPS desktop with Vista Home Premium. Wish I

oem license
i have a dell dimension 9200 with windows vista CD and CD key stuck to side
but also have a Dell vista CD that dosen't need a CD key to install and work
without a problem (no-cd key no-activation needed)this copy will updates and
passes windows WGA
So is it ok to use this oem installation CD instead of the oem installation
CD I got from dell?...

Disk Boot Error Message
I have installed Vista Ultimate from a 5-CD set on an IBM workstation w/ dual
1GHZ P3 Xeon CPUs: no problem. Next to it is my IBM dual 2.8 P4 Xeon

Express Upgrade a farce
Has anyone else had tremendous trouble with ModusLink BV located in Holland
serving express upgrades on behalf of Microsoft? I have been charged three
times for one Vista disk postage and packaging. I'd love to hear other
people's experiences on the matter. ModusLink charged me three times in March

How do I deactivate my Vista PID so I can activate it on new nachi
I've spent hours trying to find a MS phone number human who can help - but
with no sucess. I need to deactivate my Vista PID so it can then be

Worse Upgrade I've Ever Had
I've gotta be honest, I thought that Windows 98 had issues. I've been with
Microsoft since windows original. I've upgraded to every release. There
hasn't been 1 that I can remember that was a totally smooth rollout. But
this one, woah, this one is definitely DOA and definitely is and was not
ready for PRIME time! QA PEOPLE! Don't through your high overpriced pieces

Home premium Upgrade Re-partitioning
Upgrading from Windows 2000. Launching from within 2000 asks me to boot from
the DVD to repartition. Launching from the DVD tells me that I need to start
the installation from the installed OS.
