WINDOWS_WCP_OTHER_FAILURE2 - OEM Premium 64
I was having problems with hotfix updates not installing. The OS
update history showed these to have failed:
KB930178
KB932818
KB925902
KB931768
WinUpdate showed them as being installed and no updates available.
I searched MS for the error codes from the update installer. I
followed the instructions and ran the command line registry repair
tool.
I removed them, but update histor...

I have a lot of software that currently needs Access 97. I bought a Dell
laptop and the only OS option was Vista home basic which installs all the
Office Pro 97 aps except Access. It claims it gets an error in the registry
and it also complains to run the Workgroup Administrator. That program
tells me that the SYSTEM.MDW needs to be defined, but when I follow the
instructions I get "...

Vista Ultimate gets stupid
Hello,
I recently purchased a powerful gaming computer that came loaded with
Windows Vista Ultimate. Initially, it seemed like Vista was operating as it
should, but by the next day it was clear that it was up to no good. So for
the past 2 weeks I've been trying to resolve the problems without success.
When I click on the Windows symbol Vista will not allow me to access the

How Can I Get Rid of End-User License Agreemt. When Opening MS Out
I recently installed MS Office 2003 on my new laptop with Vista OS. Each
time I open an Office Program I get a End-User License Agreement which I must

Cannot install Vista on SATA disk @ SiI3112R controller
Hi
I have a hybrid system with two big disks residing on two SATA ports
from my SiI3112R controller.
(Test-) Installing Vista on one of my IDE disks worked fine; but i'm
unable to install to my SATA drive,
no matter what I do!
Yes I know how to do it, have the driver files on a floppy disk or a USB
device, install - no breaking news.
But now the following happens:

Win Def disables or not startup programs?
How came that a program that I disabled to start at start-up, namely the
antivirus Bitdefender, with no traces of it on the desktop or Windows
Defender's “Currently Running Programs†or Task Manager’s Applications, is
found to be started automatic and running happily in the background when
looked at in Services?
I thought that if I tell Win Def to disable a program from starting at...

Installing Vista on new Hard Drive
Hi
I have a Vista Ultimate Upgrade DVD.
The inevitable has happened, my hard drive has died and I have bought a new
one, which I will install later today,
how do I go about installing Vista Ultimate on my new hard drive, since it
is not upgrading but installing to a clean Hard Drive?
I have my files backed up to DVD's but not the OS.
regards
Daniel

Why does Vista insist on installing the wrong drivers?
I just had to format and reinstall Vista because I stupidly paid no
attention to Vista wanting to install a driver for my Motorola Bluetooth
dongle. If I'd noticed that it was "Broadcom" instead of "Widcomm" I might
not have ended up with a frozen login screen.
So I formatted/reinstalled...failed at the last minute, BSOD, ATI drivers in
infinite loop, blah blah. I read online that Vist...

Dual-Boot Vista and Office Activation
I just finished a long conversation with tech Support and the result is that
Office (2003) cannot be activated on two hard drives on the same system: it
is irrelevant that I have Vista on one and XP on the other. Given that Vista
is incomaptible with a lot of programs I need to dual-boot for awhile until i
can define and correct those issues. However, I get all my email thru Outlook

Power Supply Voltages
Any opinions on these voltages on my new power supply?
The are from the BIOS. I have had a couple of other PSUs which have had
fairly close readings from this BIOS.
Here's what it reads:
VCore 1.79
3.3v 3.25
5v 4.78
12v 12.48
Are these close enough to run on, or am I looking for trouble. Should I
send it back?...
