External Hard-drive not working
i have an external (portable hard drive enclosure with its own poer supply)
hard drive, but for some reason my computer has just stopped allowing it to
work on it. it works on any other computer. i have tried uninstalling and
reinstalling the drive (it registers as a USB MASS STORAGE DEVICE)... please
help me as it has 148 Gigabytes of stuff that i need!!!...

Mass storage problem
Hello All...
I come to MS after trying to work with Gateway several times on this
issue but they tell me its a Vista issue and not their problem.

Source files are deleted when burning DVD's in Vista
A VERY nasty bug?
When dragging files from my network harddrive to the Vista DVD burner
(included in filemanager), two things happends.
1. Vista creates the directories but states that the source file(s) can not
be found.
2. The source files are DELETED from the network HDD!!
Copying the files tho the local disk and do the same as above works fine.

Sync problems with Windows mobile 6.1
I am having problems with widows mobile 6.1 and my Dell Axim PDA. Whenever I
try to sync I get the message 'sync center stopped working'. This is the 1st
sync to establish the partnership. I can't find any answers on the net so has
anyone solved a similar problem please.

Inserting blank CD won't run autoplay
I installed and removed some Roxio software, and now autoplay won't run when
I insert a blank cd.
Instead Explorer opens up with the CD set to Live File System and there's no
way to switch it to Mastered.
How can I turn Autoplay back on?
I already checked the autoplay options, and blank cd is set to prompt.
The ShellHWDetection service is running.

How to get firmware version on Vista
Hi,
I'm simply trying to get the firmware version of my CD/DVD drive on Windows
Vista, but I have not been able to figure out where. I have try to use the
"Computer Management" tool but only the hard disk appear there, there is no

Problem with Mobile Intel 945 Express Chipset Family
I have a dell laptop with a mobile intel 945GM. When my laptop is on startup
a black line appears moving up and down all along the screen, i uninstall the

Sata Drives
I recently installed a new Sata DVD Burner into my system and then once I
tried to boot up with it installed it kept giving various blue screen errors.
My friend then told me he had the same problem and that it had something to

Wireless mouse interference
How do you get Windows Vista to activate the screen saver, sleep and
hibernation while the wireless mouse is running? If I unplug the USB

MSI Geforce NX6200TC-TD with 256MB - Wrong identification of memor

I have the following spec:
1. Graphics card: MSI NX6200TC-TD128E with 256MB of memory.
2. Motherboard: MSI 945PL Neo.
3. Operating system: Windows vista ultimate.
When using both the driver given by default with windows and the driver

Active sync for Vista
I have tried to install Active sync for Vista, it will not run, in XP it`s
ok, so how do i get my Sony navigation unit to be recognized in this Vista?.
I`m begining to think after over 20 years that this version of Windows could
be a flop!.

Probem installing driver software
i have a flatbed prolink scanner model simplex 8400u "winscan pro 1248u" it
works fine in xp but in vista i am unable to install its drivers. when i plug
it in it recognizes it and tries to install, but it says that an error has
occured and that the specified file cannot be found.

In my VistaOS for using a simple usb mouse is required a driver. In XP i've

Nvidia Network Controller

I have a new computer, an Asus M2NPV-VM motherboard and Vista Home Premium.
