Wireless networking help
I'm about to chuck my new $2K laptop with Vista Ultimate out of the
window due to my frustration with wireless networking on the thing.
Lenovo T500 Thinkpad
Intel Core 2 Due Centrino with something called VPro
Intel Wireless AGN 5300 wireless card
Lenovo Access Connections (something that's supposed to manage and
configure for various networks one might connect to).

Windows Vista Business No Aero?
I just installed Windows Vista Business on a new PC and I can't get
Aero. Under "Windows Colors and Appearance" from the Personalization
Menu all it shows me is Windows Vista Basic, Windows Standard, and
Windows Classic color schemes. I'm running a 2.2 ghz PC with 2 gigs of
RAM, with a genuine edition of Windows Vista Business. Any Ideas?

Alt Tab Confusion
Hi
Basically i got a new laptop for christmas with Vista Home Basic on it.
When i use the alt tab to switch through things i have open i get a
boring little box thats alot like the xp version. I dont have the option
to turn on aero :( im not asking for flip3d i just basically want the
thumbnails. If this is impossible does anyone know of a downloadable

Unable to connect to News Server
Hi
I have been using aioe.org but for a couple of weeks have been unable to
connect. I've googled and it seems it may have gone belly-up.

Network Icon Displays Red X
I have Vista Ultimate, and in my system tray the network (LAN
connection) icon displays with a red X over it. The error
message reads:
connection status: unknown
server execution failed
I know that the red X normally means there is no connection, I am
certain I do have an internet connection because you are reading
this post.
Would someone be so kind as to help me get rid ...

Itunes will not download
I cannot get iTunes to downlad...if I select Run it locks at 14%...if I
select Run it locks at 79%.
Any help/ideas/solutions will be greatly accepted by this non techie....

Recommend screen-capture software (inexpensive or open-source)?
I'd like to be able to take a snapshot of only a certain
area of my screen such as the active window, and save it
to a .JPG or something similar. I know Snag-It does
this but it's $50. Is there something in the public
domain or less expensive that someone can recommend for
this?...

Preview Pane
I'm having weird issues with the preview pane in Vista. When I open games,
and turn on the preview pane for the games folder, it will turn the preview
pane on with some other folders as well. (Folders that are in an entirely
different location - even a different drive partition.) Likewise, if I shut
off the preview pane, it will shut it off in the other folders as well.

Vista SP1 won´t install
Í am working on a friends computer in Spain. It has Vista - was updated to
SP1 in January and crashed in the summer. A "techie" fixed it but now it
tries every day to download SP1 and fails. I see on Google that many people

I posted about this problem a while back but was unable to follow up on

video problem
Hi guys i have a question for you guys please my brother has xp and a
somewhat slower rig, to my Q6600 and 4 gig of ram but for some reason
when im using my brothers pc i click on a video on daily motion or you
tube it loads super quick,and plays really smooth,can someone tell me
please why my Q6600 and 4 gigs seems to take forever to load ive
downloaded vista 64 codecs,but it still is very slow...

Logon.scr error message. Cannot log into my Vista machine..help!
Greetings all,
I'm having a terrible time with my ultimate Vista machine. It boots up and
after a black screen appears for about 6 minutes finally the logon screen
appears. I see the icons for both of the user accounts but when I click on
them, nothing happens it does not allow me to enter a password. You can tell
in the background its doing stuff. I've let it sit this way for a day...

Vista's Windows Explorer
Hi there,
I have got a virus on my computer which runs Vista Home Premium.
In Windows 98 I usually removed a virus manually either in Windows Explorer
(prefered) or in the Registry. But Vista is different, in that I cannot find
the pathname and virus in Windows Explorer nor in the Registry.

Windows Explorer
When I use Windows Explorer to view my desired files, the files show in the
right pane in different modes: doc, photo & music. It appears to me they
are in random. If I view the files arranged in photo mode, how can I change
it back to doc mode.

Photoshop Elements 5.0 Scanning Issues

Can OneNote convert handwriting to text on a non-tablet PC
I have just started to use OneNote and cannot figure out how or if OneNote
will convert handwriting to text on my PC. I use a Wacom tablet with the

JPG file type
I am trying to save a number of jpg files to my desk top by right clicking on
the file and choose save picture as...., a prompt came up with a file name
box and a save as type box. I can only input into the file name box but not
the save as type box. The box is blank with no drop down options nor allow
me to input the jpg file type. How do I fix the save as type box which would

Vista -> Personal Folder -> Unix NAS BUG
Hi there,
I've found what I can only presume is a bug. If I map a network drive to my
NAS, which happens to be an ICYBOX-IB4220-B, the network drive works
perfectly. When I delete files, they disappear, the drive does not use the
recycle bin, I am okay with this.
If I then map one of my personal folders, lets say "My Music" to the newly
