Save As dialog box not working in IE, no registry settings to reset??
Okay, I'm stumped.
I have seen 30 solutions, and they all state to go into the registry
and edit the AttachmentExecute or "policies" section to adjust what
happens when a file is clicked on, but I don't HAVE those options,
they're just not there!
Somehow, the .mp3 extension has been clicked to open, which is a pain
because I need them to save from a flash file, and because I can't
right-click...

winmgmt and McAfee
Hi,
I have recently tested winmgmt through winmgmt/verifyrepository and
received the message that the repository is consistent.
I am having trouble getting Vista to recognise McAfee (anti-virus
programme). This is a recent problem.
My question is' Eventhough winmgmt is consistent, is it still
worthwhile running winmgmt/salvagerepository, or another option, in
the hope of fixing the pr...

Bug copying .eml-Files, time stamp changed
When copying eml-files for backup from a non-vista system (XP-PC,
Qnap-Server) to a Vista Home Premium machine, the time stamp "modified"
of the files is changed to the current date / time of the Vista PC.
This effect exists since some Vista update about 2 weeks ago.
It makes backups more difficult because they are based on the
modified-time-stamps.
Why is this happening, and will there be an u...

Looking for information on the items in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop for Vista
Is there a description of all of the items that are in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop for

I have code that manipulates these but Vista adds some additional parameters. Is there a complete
definition available somewhere?...

What is the command line command for unzipping files?
On a stock Vista box we need to be able to extract files from a zip file
from a command line batch script. I can't seem to find a command for this.
I know unzipping is built in because we can just double click on it and get
access to the files.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,

drive Vista does not recongise that there is any data on the data and pops
up the format disk option. Its an ATAPI DVD drive if that makes any
difference.

Character map in vista
I cannot get the correct symbol or character to show when I used the Alt +
code in Windows mail or in Microsoft Works. For example when I type
Alt+0162 which should be the 'cent' sign I get a smiley face. It only works
when I copy and paste to the document. How can I make it work using the
Alt+ command?
Thanks,

Windows Vista & Offline Files
Hi,
I have a client with Vista Business, Connected to SBS 2003. Offline
files are enabled and working. However, when a user opens a document
on the server (while online) and then makes changes, these changes
happen to the cached file and not the server file. They are not
transferred until a manual sync is performed.
If the Vista client has a file open and another (XP) machine opens the

Speech Recognition in Vista (and XP)
We Windows users are extremely fortunate to have
the best SR app available, Dragon NaturallySpeaking.
