Trouble moving folders
I've noticed that sometimes Windows Vista (Business Edition) asks for
authorization before I can move one folder into another. When I give
permission (I'm the administrator) I get a bunch of Try again messages They
only solution I've found so far when this happens is to restart the computer.
Is anyone else having this problem and if so is there another solution?
This doesn't happen o...

How do I delete a damaged ocx?
How do I delete a damaged ocx from downloaded program files?
If I select the file then click "organise", then "delete" nothing happens -
no messages, nothing. The control just stays there. Now that is really bad
programming - at least I should get an error message.
Going to the folder via a cmd window gives an "access is denied" error.
My account is set up as administrator but even as...

How to make a full Vista MCE backup without the Video?
Folks,
Does anybody know how to use Windows Vista Backup utility to copy my
main hdd to a smaller older ATA hdd without copying or backing up the videos
and recorded TV? The full backup requires144 GB of room and I only have
114 GB of room. I should have more than enough without the video, but the
backup program doesn't give me the option of doing a full backup without the
Video ...

Desktop icons won't remember position
Has anyone seen this? Every time I log off and back on (or hit refresh) my
desktop icons realphabetize themselves. If I change the sort criteria, it
will resort by that (size, for example). I haven't found any way to get it to
stop reordering my icons... This behavior seems unique to my one Vista
machine. Disabling auto arrange fixes it, but I want new icons to line up in
the next availa...

Windows Vicodin
You know as you spend years around computers and learn new tricks and tweaks,
as you age things in the new millenium should get easier, or at least to say
smarter. Bill Gates and his intellectual behemoth really out did themselves
this time. I need to retire and leave this frustration Windows Vista to the
ones who enjoy making things more difficult and more time consuming. I am
really di...

add comments to files
In XP I could add any comment to any file. In Vista all that I can add are
Tags in certain extensions. This causes a problem understanding the files
use. Either this is an oversight by Mr. Bill or a reason to confuse the
user. All ideas will be appreciated.
