I tried to set up another user account and the process started and told me
that it was setting up the account.
The setup got as far as a blue screen, with the cursor, and was stuck there.

Vista does not recover properly after sleep in Dell E1505
Hi! I'm running Vista Ultimate on a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop and a ATI
Mobility Radeon X1400 video card. When it goes into sleep mode, I
actually doesn't recover properly. Once I flip the lid open, it just
boots all over again, restores Windows and takes a very long time to do
so, almost 3-5 minutes, instead of taking "less than 3 seconds" as some
people claim.
Does anyone know how to fix this...

Moving windows 2000 hard drives to vista
Hello;
I have a new machine on the way that is running vista business. I need to

machine. I have removed security restrictions on the drives and given full
access on the drives to "everyone". I will probably want to "take ownership"
of the drives when they get moved but is there anything else that I am

You do not have sufficient priveleges.....
I've spent 3-weeks browsing for the answer to this problem, and although
there were a few promising threads already open here, none quite duplicate
the problem I have.
After buying a new PC ready-installed with Vista Home Premium, everything
worked fine for a few weeks, I could install programmes from CD or the
Internet without any problem when signed-on with a User account set as

The Lacie support replies that this issue lies with Vista. My
NAS has a 25 user limit and Lacie support thinks it is related to that Vista
doesn't disconnect after each access. When will this bug(?) be s...

Parental Controls Data
On my laptop, I am an administrator and I have Parental Controls enabled for
other users. Although I can view the corresponding logs, I would like to
export them. I don't see an option to export them. Is there an option to
export that I've overlooked, or am is there somewhere that I can extract the
account usage data from manually?
Thanks in advance....

Windows Vista 32 Bit has slowed down after joining a domain
Dear Desktop Support Guru,
I have joined Windows Vista 32 bit to a Windows 2003 Small business server
domain that is running service pack 2. Since this time the PC has increased
the time it takes to do things. For example, if the start button is clicked,
you can wait for up to 60 seconds for the start menu to appear - and
sometimes a not responding menu appears. Are there any known issu...

User2.HOMECOMPUTER (thus the ~?) but all of my settings seem to be under the

I live in a shared house, when I leave my laptop in a room unattended my

How do I query IE7 & cleanmgr using a script ?
Hello everyone,
I'd like to use a script (WMI, WSH, ...) to tell IE7 to clean out its old
cookies, form data, and/or stored passwords.
I would also like to write a script that will tell the disk cleanup utility
(cleanmgr.exe) to remove old files periodically using the options I set. I'm
having trouble with the /sageset and /sagerun switches, cleanmgr ignores them.
Is there a tuto...
