restrict drivers from loading onto windows 2008 TS servers
Hello,
We have set our GPO for our Windows 2008 Terminal servers to "Use Terminal
Server Easy Print Driver First". I would like to restrict the environment so
that only that printer driver is used unless there is a specific issue.
Question: 1) Is it possible to restrict so that only the Easy print driver
is used?
2) If you do restrict, can you create exceptions using compatiblity lists

Printing Issue with Windows 2008 Terminal Services
Windows 2008 Terminal Services seems to be attaching the client machine name
to the print request. We have an app that is picking this up and is not able
to process the request local to the application. This does not happen in our
current CITRIX environment. This is a big issue!

The app is JetForms 5.4. I need to str...

Run batch file during launch of remote app?
Hi I was wondering if when launching a remote app using the .rdp file that I
can have it run a batch file first? This batch file is used to change the
odbc settings on the terminal server to point this remote app to the proper
SQl server.
Thanks,

workaround for MSTSC window minimization curse
I have studied the specs for RDP (which are open and available for
download from microsoft website) - and it seems that there is a
virtual possibility to workaround the well-known problem of minimizing
RDP window (which might cause application failures due to the fact
that server secures remote desktop state disallowing Input-related
APIs like GetCursorPos - actually I think it's just a bug, ...

Quick question (hopefully!)
what is the difference between TS client and External connector
I have around 80 users who are now on TS/Citrix licensing and planning to
upgrade the OS so I was looking at some licensing costs and wow how expensive
the TS licenses...then I saw the External connector ...not sure if this can
be applicable in my case ...all my clients come through VPN to the ...

RemoteApp
Hi,
I have a question concerning RemoteApp:
Is it possible to work on a client-PC with dual screen when working with
apps on the terminal server?
Since there is no RDP anymore, I should be able to have two TS-applications
open, one in each screen on the pc (without thirdparty tools), correct?
Thanks for your feedback.

Can't change the default printer in a terminal server session
I have a terminal server farm of three Server 2003 X64 systems using simple
MLB for load balancing. It is mostly accessed via the LAN and so most
printers are mapped directly on the server so I don't have to worry about
redirecting local server ports. On a fairly regular but random basis, users
will be unable to set a default printer or print from applications e.g.
Office 2007. Test prin...

Macintosh CAL type
One 2008 server running TS. All 20 clients are Mac's. They want to connect
to run their MS based billing system.
Are there any differences in going per computer CAL vs. per user? Seems if
there are no major differences then per computer would be better since I
won't have to install the AD role. Correct?
Thanks....

TS Licensing
We have a 2003 TS farm. Users connect to the farm through HP Thin Clients.
The current licensing mode is "Per Device". This is a bit problematic when I
have to update the images on the Thin Clients as the Thin Clients come back
up like they are "brand new" PCs without the previously allocated license.
Waiting 52-89 days for the license to free up is not acceptable. If I call

CAL for 2003
Hello,
I need some advice about purchasing Terminal Server CAL for Windows Server

We have a localized version of Server 2003 (spanish) and we would like to
get 5 user CAL pack. As we have been unable to find it in spanish we are
thinking about buying the english one. Would it be a problem? Does the
terminal server CAL language have to match with the Server 2003 language?

Licensing for TS Gateway and RemoteApp
I must be losing my mind. I can't find anything that specifically states the
licensing requirements for the TS Gateway role service and RemoteApp.
I'm pretty sure that RemoteApp requires a CAL and is essentially a 'lite'
version of a traditional RDP session (at least as far as TS licensing is
concerned).
What I really have no idea about is whether users who go through a TS
