Automatic Scheduled Updates - Not Working
Hello -
We have moved WSUS to pilot. In order to baseline our enterprise we
would like to use Automatic Scheduled updates. However when our test
group logged in today they had the Updates Ready to be Installed
shield / pop up. We had expected the systems, as they were powered on
but no users logged in, to automatically install and reboot as
required.

Using WSUS 3.0 to deploy custom IE7 installer
Hi all, I think this is a classic question but we have created a full
IE7 exe installation using the IEATK. Its fine but we have to run it
on each machine! I believe we can use WSUS to push this out? i have
never used WSUS before, but can you "check in" out IE7 installer and
then push it out via WU???
Thanks.

Importing Updates into WSUS 3 Beta 2
Hi,
We would like our users to have the Microsoft Office 2007 Compatibility Pack

clients should have automatically downloaded and installed and

My WSUS server has synchronised 65 'old' updates
Last night my WSUS server found 65 'new updates' according to the sync

These 'new updates' have release dates ranging from Jan 2003 to November 2004.
Don't want to approve them as this doesn't look right to me.
Here's an extract from the sync results:

Still have 99% CPU usage on svchost.exe...
wuauclt.exe causes svchost.exe to spike every time a computer runs updates.
I need this problem solved as many others do. I see that MS has put out
several attempts to fix the problem but none of them work. I am posting
this again because I want to see if we can get some new eyes on the problem.

All pc checked in, and WSUS sync'd fine. My problem is when I try to select
updates for approval I get an error saying a timeout occured connecting to
the SQL DB. When I look at the SQL monitor I see that the server, and
service does not show up to be selected. Any ideas...

updates are "declined" but "needed"
I have a little Problem with the wsus 3.0 RC-Server. There are some Updates
(<10) which are declined (by default or by administrator) but shown as needed

One example is the "windows Media Player 11". It's "only" an update but is
it needed?
And now, not one computer has the status "Up to date".
Is there a possibility to tag these updates as "not needed" ?
