How to bypass proxy for WSUS 3.0
I recently uninstalled WSUS 3.0 Beta and installed the full version. The
installation process went well. I am having the same issue that I had with
version 2.0, downloading from Microsoft. I tried to follow the following
instructions like last time, but the osql.exe program was not there. So I
copied it from another server and tried it, but it did not work:

Upgrading WSUS 2 to 3: not so nice
So... I just tried to upgrade our WSUS 2 server to WSUS 3. And it
bonked out on me with an error. I waded through the errorlog, found
some messages, but I couldn't quite figure out what was wrong.
As the database was backed up - and a new Windows Internal Database
was created, I tried running setup again.
Alas, no longer any upgrade path was presented. But it did find a
database instance...

WSUS 3.0 API question
Hello All,
I'm trying to write some Powershell scripts to manage WSUS 3.0.
I've noticed two new methods of the
Microsoft.UpdateServices.Internal.BaseApi.UpdateServer class:
ExportUpdates and ImportUpdates. They are not documented on the MSDN
(or am I drunk ?).
While I was able to write a script that Exports to a .cab and a log
(xml) file successfully, I cannot understand how to use the

WSUS 3.0 upgrade SQL Requirments
The published requirments state the following.....
SQL Server 2005 SP1 is optional. Note if a compatible version of SQL Server

Our existing WSUS 2.0 server is running SQL2000. Is this supported, will

WSUS will not allow Default web site install.
I'm installing WSUS 3.0 on my older WSUS 2.0 Mahcine, and I'm getting the
message "You cannot use the default web site..." and it wants to install WSUS
on port 8530 instead of port 80
-I am not Using SBS
-Sharepoint is not installed
-there is no web site currently using port 80, or any sites on this server
for that matter.
Is there a security setting that would cause this error?...

KB913433: again something wrong with the WSUS 3.0 superseding settings?
Hi,
A similar problem as with the KB831167 update (see my other posts):
The KB913433 update (Security Update for Flash Player) is stated by WSUS 3.0
as superseded by KB923789 (Security Update for Flash Player).
So, I did approve the KB923789 update for install, but I did not yet decline
the KB913433 update, in line with the WSUS recommendation.
The strange thing is that WSUS 3.0 is still...

How many computers on WSUS 3.0?
In WSUS 2.0 there was an equation to how many computers you can manage, the
equation being 15,000 computers at 22 hour checkin, 7500 computers per 11
hour checkins, etc. In WSUS 3.0 I have found no reference to this and have
read it can support many more clients than before. From what I can find in
the read me docs, it doesnt appear to have a limitation with the database but
