WSUS 3.0 Uninstall Issue
I upgraded from WSUS 2.0 SP1 to WSUS 3.0. During the upgrade, I noticed that
the setup routine said that it would upgrade from the MSDE SQL Server
instance to the Windows Internal Database. At first, the console worked
great, and I thought everything was going well. I tried to connect to the
WSUS server from one of the clients and it could not update/connect to the
server. I installed th...

WSUS running but not accessible.
We recently had a server meltdown and had to repair the damage. As a result
I can no longer access the WSUS service. I believe that it is still running
but cannot confirm this. In the IIS Admin I cannot locate and WSUS webpage
and do not know how to go about reconnecting.
Following some advice I found online I attempted to remove WSUS and
reinstall. This did not work stating an err...

WSUS 3.0 and Antivirus blocking
I have my corporate anti-virus configured to block applications from sending
out emails. WSUS will not send alerts. Applications are excluded from
blocking via a list of program names. What program name do I need to use for
WSUS? Not a major issue, but annoying nonetheless.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Reboot options
When using GPO with WSUS 2, I was able to prevent non-admins from clicking
"Restart Later" after patching. It appears the v3 client allows non-admns to
click "Restart Later," because now I have a thousand PCs awaiting reboot for
several weeks. Is there a new reg key or GP option to prevent users from
clicking "Restart Later?"...

"Not approved" differs between WSUS 2.0 and 3.0?
Commonly in 2.0, I didn't want to an update to a certain group so I would
not approve it for detect, while another group would be approved for
install. Usually these are in the "Updates" category, such as .NET 3.0 or
RDC 6.0.
It seems in 3.0 that "not approved" still ALWAYS means approved for detect,
so I would have heaps of computers "needing" it, which makes the summary
reports alwa...

wsus 3.0 and office 2003 service pack question
Hi All:
I'm using WSUS 3.0 and its working great. I've noticed that as you
scroll down the list of client machines in WSUS 3.0, in the details
for the machine, the service pack level for the operating system is
shown on the main screen.
Is there some place in WSUS where the Office version and service pack
level are shown for a particular machine? If not, is there an ability

I uninstalled WSUS and the errors stopped, I reinstalled and they came back.

Hi,
I recently upgraded my WSUS 2.0 server to 3.0. I have noticed that my

that the WindowsUpdate log had 0x80244019 errors, however I can run the
clientdiag tool succesfully. I need to get these clients working again. Any
help would be appreciated. Thanks!...

After the 1st synch the Computer groups & Updates replicated to WSUS2 Svr

How to move the Updates Stores to another location in WSUS3
I am having a bit of trouble with WSUS3. It seems that I have over my
Updaqte Storage location and would like to move the downloaded updates to a

WSUS 3.0 and svchost.exe
Hi all,
I've read to solve svhost.exe CPU% overload, I've to install KB927891 and
KB936301 (WSUS 2.0 SP1 Client Update), that will install WSUS 3.0 client on
PCs
So WSUS 3.0 clients should connect to WSUS 2.0 server, is it correct, or is
better to make an update to WSUS 3.0 server also, to solve definitively the
problem?
Many thanks.
