WSUS 3 - Sort updates by date.
We upgraded to WSUS 3 last month and so far everything has been fine.
I think I may be missing something simple, but I can't seem to find a way to
sort updates by release date under "Updates" in the console.
Am I having missing it, or is that no longer an option?
Thanks.

can't unintall WSUS from w2k3 SP2
Hi,
I am trying to uninstall WSUS from Windows 2003 SP2. I tried this from
Add/Remove Programs, and it failed but disappeared from there, then I
tried to uninstall Windows Internal DB, which appears to be removed...
Then I tried to run the .msi from update Services/setup folder and the
install still fails... Here's my log... any ideas?

WSUS 3.0 Install/Uninstall problems again
I posted a week or 2 ago about one of my servers having problems with the
install of WSUS 3.0 and Fei was able to help me get this fixed. I'm now
trying to get WSUS 3.0 on a different server and I'm having problems.
Here's what I've done so far.
WSUS 2.0 SP1 was installed on this server and working fine. I launched the
WSUS 3.0 install (wsus3setupx86.exe) to perform an upgrade. It go...

Admin MMC: ...do not have the permissions required to access...
Hi all-
Okay, here's the background. We were running WSUS 2.0 for quite a while.
About a month ago I installed WSUS 3.0. This is on a SBS 2003 machine BTW.
During the install all went smoothly. It uninstalled 2.0, installed 3.0, and
everything came up and kept right on going.
I used the Admin console on the server, and on my local workstation many
times over the month, no proble...

Problems after uninstall
Hi everyone,
I had WSUS 2.0 on WIN 2K server for 2 months. Due to lack of proper planning
on my part, I had to uninstall it 2 days back. However, the uninstall created
more problems.
It said the uninstall finished with errors but didn't say what errors.
However, it removed its entry from 'Add/Remove Programs'. So I thought I will
be able to manually delete the files and folders it ha...

WSUS 3.0 upgrade
I did an upgrade from 2.0 to 3.0 and everything looks like it went smoothly

WSUS v3.0 upgrade client download issue
All,
Upgraded WSUS v2.0 (SP1) to v3.0. The new MMC v3.0 Console populated with
all the clients in their Computer Groups.
A couple things of concern:
1) I have a new anomaly, Approval called Install (inherited) and Deadline
called None (inherited) which are grayed out on various Computer Groups. At
one time we had Client-Side Targeting with one Computer Group, but broke that
group ...

Updates appear to install at incorrect time
I work at an Educational institution and have a narrow window in which to
install updates. The reason for this window is we have an application much
like Windows SteadyState installed, which prevents changes made to a PC from
becoming permanent as they are wiped when rebooted.
As such, we have a period overnight (1hr 15mins) when clients turn off this
application to install updates, upd...

Remote Users under WSUS
Our company is implementing WSUS and has a number of remote notebook users
who vary from sporadic VPN connections to no connection on the VPN. They all
are sales users and need updates.
Right now we have them setup with no update scheme ** BAD I know**. They
update at their leisure from MS via Windows Update.
I want to incorporate them into our WSUS setup, but dragging the updates

Windows Clients not registering on the WSUS 3.0 box?
Hi,
We had various versions of WSUS (other people setup poorly), and I just put
up a new wsus3 box on our new dc. Clients don't seem to all be checking in,
I am setting this through a GPO.
Can anyone give me an idea of what their gpo is and what to do if clients
are not registering? I am not good at scripting and I know someone wrote a
script that I heard about which would run at login...

WU API Question ... force full-file download
Hi
I created a VBscript which uses the Windows Update API
to automatically create an up-to-date patch kit.
The patch kit created contains the
patch binaries and a batch script to install them; the patch kit
can then be used on systems which are not yet online
(new systems being built and other offline systems .... etc)
To first order, the script works it downloads the patches

support around 4000 client workstations taking into consideration the
following limitations?

WSUS 3.0 Install/Uninstall Problems
First, a run down of what's happened with the server.
I got a new HP server for my facility, started building the server,
installing the OS (Windows Server 2003 SP2), updates, and applications. I
copied all the user data from the old server to the new server using
ROBOCOPY to preserve the ACL's. Once this was done, I took the old server
off the network and changed the new server's IP ...
