Office XP never ending EULA Acceptance after October Patches
I tagged this on to a previous post but I don't know if I will get an answer
that way so I am creating a new thread, just in case. Here is most of the
previous:
I have many computers with this same issue, but I do not want to have to go
around to
that many pc's just to login and accept this thing..... Does someone out
there have a good fix to this? I would think you could accept di...

Unable to Synchronize with Replica Server
Since late August the replica server stopped synchronizing with the main WSUS
3.0 SP1 server. The replica server is configured identically with other
replica servers which are synchronizing OK with the main server.
Here are log excerpts... how do I fix this?:

Office XP Perpetually Asking for EULA Acceptance after October Patches
Luckily, I only have one user still on Office XP, but every time she
opens a program from that suite it asks her to accept the EULA. Close
the program and reopen it...same EULA.
At first I thought it might have been some malware she contracted, but
this appears to be a legitimate problem with her Office XP
installation that only cropped up after last night's patches were
applied.
If it...

"The why didn't you check with me first" issue excluded, here is my issue. A

update the app". We have a small AD and WSUS 2 available. Most of the
environment is eiother XP Pro , or Vista Business. I have been e-mailing the

Cookie needed?
Hey folks!
I was wondering if WSUS leaves any kind of cookie on the Workstation
computers for any reason?
I usually run a third party clean up program that cleans out all the trash
files and cookies once a month. I noticed that some of the computers are
not getting the updates from WSUS anymore. I looked for a pattern and I
think I noticed that the Computers that have run the clean...

WSUS 3.0SP1 on Server 2008 Install Hangs
I'm unable to get WSUS 3.0SP1 to install on Server 2008 Standard
x64. I had the IIS7 and WSUS roles installed, but IIS was giving me
all sorts of configuration errors, so I removed both the IIS and WSUS
roles (since one is dependent on the other), rebooted, and added the
IIS role. I've tried to re-add the WSUS role, but Server Manager just
hangs at "Searching for Updates..." forever.

Computers shown in both Included and Excluded Groups
Hello folks:
I was running WSUS Version 2.0 on an SBS 2002 R2 server fully updated with
all the service packs.
My problem is, that some computers are not updating in my network. After I
checked, the ones that are not updating are showing up in the excluded list
of computers for the group they are in. HOWEVER, they are ALSO showing up
in the INCLUDED computers.
Why would they sh...

MS08-067 not prompting for reboot - 70 percent of clients.
Hello,
We have a rather large WSUS implementation across NA, Latam, Canada. Close
to 25,000 clients with many replica nodes.
We are AD based with GPO's configuring clients for AU settings and have been
rolling for years since SUS 1.0.
Current issue:
MS08-067 does not prompt about 70 percent of clients for a reboot after a
successfull installation. Nothing has changed as far as ou...

Do I really need an Internet connected WSUS server?
Hi all,
apologies if this has been asked before. We have a customer who has a
completely disconnected site of about 30 machines who need to manage their
security updates.
One suggestion is to install a local WSUS server on this site. The problem
is how do we get the updates onto this server in order to deploy them? It
seems we'd either need to give this server Internet connectivity i...

Client Setup
Hi Folks,
I am a newbie to WSUS and have just set up my first server. The server is
syncing well with MS Updates, however I can't get any computers recognised.
I have followed the Microsoft Step by Step Guide and waded through the
deployment and operations guides.
I created a test group in AD and then created and applied a group policy to
it for Windows update. I attached four pc...

SP Blockers and WSUS
Question for the WSUS administrators....
Do you use/Have you used the service pack blocker tools in your environment
(XPSP2, XPSP3, Win2003SP1)?
If so, did you use them:
[a] to ensure users did not install the SP from WU/MU
[b] to ensure the WSUS Server did not inadvertently get approved for the
SP

[d] other
Should a WSUS update approval honor the presence...

I am trying to find a way to prevent the downloading of the x64 and iA64

only. I am using WSUS 2.0 with latest updates....

Updates not appearing from Patch Tuesday (14th Oct) on WSUS ver 2
Hi Guys,
we have three WSUS servers a v2 and 2 x v3.
We noticed that on Patch Tuesday (14th Oct) or 2 x v3's reported updates,
but our V2 server did not. Except for Defender and 1 Active Directory Patch
for 2000.
All the updates selected between the 3 servers are the same.
Any one else got this?
or is it time to upgrade to v3
Thanks

Simon.
