SNMP interface index windows 2000
Hi,
I'm using Zabbix (www.zabbix.com) for monitoring and my Ethernet interface
index is 16777219. There is a way to modify interface index to something
like "2" in windows 2000 snmp?
Using snmpwalk from a linux box I receive this:
snmpwalk -c public -v 2c 172.28.0.2| grep Descr
IF-MIB::ifDescr.1 = STRING: MS TCP Loopback interface
IF-MIB::ifDescr.16777219 = STRING: IBM 10/100 Ethern...

Will Network Places always be empty with NETBIOS disabled ?
Hello.
We are currently trying to work out how much we can eliminate NETBIOS on our
network. So far we have a couple of applications which make use of 'Browse'
to select remote network shared folders and user's being used to using
Network Places to find remote computers. Can anyone confirm if NETBIOS is
disabled on servers and workstations (we are not using Exchange) whether
there i...

I am a network rookie, and have been stuck for days. Would greatly
appreciate assistance in getting unstuck or at least pointed in the
right direction. Everything works fine for a while but eventually I
lose the ability to connect to the internet from one (and only one)
computer. Here's a visual of my network setup/configuration:

user(s) logged on warning please
Hi all,
Where would I find the setting to switch ON the warning that
(network) users are logged on when the machine in question is
restarted.
In particular, the machine in question (XPpro-sp2) is running as
the server for my IQ package. Every now and then someone
(or myself) forgets this little detail and reboots the machine
(for whatever reason) during the course of business. The machi...

pingable. After much research I discover the problem.

Network Printing...what gives?
We just switched over to share-based printing. We were using direct
IP printing (local IP ports setup and directed to networked printers),
and it worked flawlessly, but it has it's drawbacks.
Anyway, we installed printers on a Win2K server. The latest drivers
were installed and the printers shared out using standard naming
conventions. My problem is that printing this way is killing us.

the next hop for the computer shows it doing simple background traffic to
the domain controller, ...
