New Server Hardware
We have a small (25 user) subsidary organization we provide support for. They
are outgrowing their current hardware and we've acquired new hardware
replacement.
The current network is a single DC domain with a couple of member servers

The DC is the unit that is being replaced. It also servers as their core

Exchange 2007 32-bit Support?
Hello,
I am aware that Exchange 2003 will only run on a 32-bit platform, and
Exchange 2007 will only run on a 64-bit platform. Do you think Microsoft
will ever change the 64-bit requirement for Exchange 2007? I am asking
because I am using Exchange 2000 and looking for a new server for Exchange
2003. Unfortunately, it appears I'll have to buy another server when I am
ready for Exchang...

R2 ADPREP Fails
Hi all,
I am trying to extend the schema of my Windows 2003 domain to enable
me to utilise a 2003 R2 server as DC in the domain. I log on to my DC
that is the Schema Master for the domain as a user who is a member of
both the Schema Admins and Enterprise Admins group. I then run adprep /
forestprep from the R2 disc 2 as required and initially it seems all
is well. But after a while I am thro...

I have a client that has 6 servers all running Windows 2000. The three I
want to focus on are the Primary Domain Controller the Secondary Domain
Controller and Exchange 2000 mail server.
I want to consolidate all three servers into one new server. My question is
how? I know that is kind of a broad question but I need a starting point.
The problem is that the domain controller only h...

Migrating files from Novell share to Windows Server
Hello,
my goal is to migrate files from a Novell share to a Windows share
without losing the permissions on the share.
We activated CIFS on the Novell share and then I tried to copy the
files via Robocopy with the /SEC option. While doing this, I get an
error that the source is not NTFS. This is true, but I thought that
CIFS could simulate this.
So how to I copy files with their rights ...

FPNW, 2003 and AD
I'm in the process of migrating from NW to AD. We need to use FPNW (File and
Print services for NetWare) for a legacy application until it gets it gets
rewrote or replaced. It is an AD environment with 2003 servers.
My question. I've installed FPNW on the initial box, but can't use AD users,
only local users to the box. It only shows the Netware services tab on the
local users configura...

Default Domain Name after Migration
I've completed the migration of a Windows 2000 Server to a Windows 2003 SBS
with very few problems. One of the few is very annoying and is certain to
give users a problem.
In addition to the SBS server, we also have one Windows 2003 Standard server
which is used as a Terminal Server. During the migration from the old file
server to the new one I moved this Terminal Server out of the o...
