Server 2008 gives Blue Screen when logging in.
Hello,
I have a machine with Windows Server 2008 Standard with SP1. I installed it
without any problems and all was working fine. That same day it started to
give a blue screen error when logging in, just when the desktop starts to
show. It starts dumping the errors and the only relevant reference that
shows is this one "0x00000024". In safe mode it stratups and logs in very
well. I s...

Help me write the Active Directory Query
I'm a newbie and this is all running in a Win2003 enviroment.

MS support for Server 2003?
When does official MS support for Server 2003 end? I am thinking of
retiring a 2003 installation and replacing it with 2008 but I won't if
there's plenty of life (updates etc.) left in 2003.

Extend Software RAID
I was hoping somebody could clarify something regarding RAID on Windows.
Can a (dynamic disk) software RAID (1,5 and up) be extended? Or more to the
point, if I have an existing software RAID set, how can I add more space. Any
version of windows will do! Note that the RAID set is data only.
I have searched until my eyes popped out, but always seem to come to the
conclusion that it is o...

Get rid of event 5781
Hi,
Our domain was once a single-label domain name, however it was renamed
to a dotted name a year ago and the according gpo entry for single-label
domain stuff was erased.
However we still get Event 5781 in the DC's system log. I have demoted
the second DC and hope to strip this error off the remaining one.
I have stopped the netlogon service, renamed netlogon.dns and
reregister...

How big is big enough for the W2K8 system partition?
My current Server 2003 system partition is 30GB which has been plenty but
will this be enough or a good size for Server 2008? I like to have plenty
of space for the defragger to work properly so do I need to increase this
somewhat? How much?

Ultra secure and user friendly file sharing on Server 2003?
We were considering Sharepoint Services 3.0 with SSL, but we would rather
have something with as little of a learning curve for all involved as
possible.
We need to be able to securely share some financial and HR records on our
internal LAN and it needs to be more secure than simply adding NTFS ACLs.
All access needs to be audited and it needs to be secure from network
sniffing.

remotely add user to desktop RDP / remotely connect to "local security policies"
Hi,
Is there a way to add a user account to the approved RDP list for a
workstation? Something controlled through an MMC, not through actually
connecting through remote desktop to the machine and then logging someone
off and then logging in as an admin to manually add them.
I know that this is possible to do through "local security policies", but
can I remotely connect to a desktop'...

Script to start applications on server startup
We have a Windows 2000 Server which needs to run telephony applications. To
do that it must first load voice card drivers, then fax card drivers then
the actual telephony applications.
What happens sometimes is that the the 'next' application starts (or tries
to) before the pre-requisite has finished loading.
Our plan is to remove these applications from the autostart when the machine ...
