Windows Server 2003 R2 Printer Server Question
I have a network composed of two servers, S1 and S2, both running Windows
Server 2003 R2 x64. S1 is the primary domain controller and runs Exchange
2007. S2 is configured as a print server. This box is NOT configured as a
domain controller, but when it logs onto the network it logs on as a member
of the domain.
I've set up a number of printers on the print server, and set them up for

Transparent desktop icon labels?
Just a minor issue, I seem to remember there was a way to achieve
transparent backgrounds for the labels of desktop icons in Server 2003 and
other similar "classic" desktops so that they don't appear as a rectangle of
a block colour but just as text on the desktop background image.
Does anyone know how to do this?

Uninstalled .NET 2.0 BETA and now the server restarts over and over
I rebooted my server after uninstalling what was the BETA of .NET
2.0. I did not re-installed .NET 2.0 before rebooting. Now the
server starts up with the Windows 2003 logo and then the server
reboots itself.
How much trouble did I just get myself into? Do you think a Repair
will work?
Thanks

this. Anyone know which driver should I look for and where to find it?...

Looking for a backup application simular to ntbackup for Server 2008. The

Installation problems w/ Windows Server 2008 Std. 64 bit
I am trying to install Windows Server 2008 64 bit on a new machine.
I have the install DVD in the drive and the machine boots into the

My problem is that, when I get to the product key screen, I put in my

2003 R2: repair cant find: install.exe, iexplorer.exe
I am stuck and it appears I will have to re-install 2003 R2 Standard unless
I can get some help.
I did a repair of 2003 R2 as follows: Booted the 2003 R2 CD, let it find
the already installed 2003 R2 and told it to do a repair. The repair went
ok and about %75 thru I was asked to provide "install.exe" from the 2nd cd.
This did not exist and a google indicated this was a known problem ...

With Robocopy can I just show files that were skipped due to being newer in the destination?
Robocopy is great at showing in the output files that were skipped
because they were "Extra" (present in the destination only) -- this
appears to be the default behavior -- but the only way I seem to be
able to show files that were skipped because they are NEWER in the
destination (they are skipped because I'm using the /xo flag) is the
use the /v (verbose) flag, which shows me ALL skipped fi...

Windows Thread Scheduler - Inserting Soft-Interrupt into execution stack
Hello,
There's been something that I've always been curious about but have
not been able to find an answer on. From what I've read, the OS's
thread scheduler determines how much time a particular thread should
execute and inserts a software interrupt into the execution stack at
a
particular location. My question is two-fold : 1) how does it know
where to insert the interrupt (ie. does it ...

Thank you for your in advance.
I found out that those files and folders with long name and funny characters

delete them. I needed to rename them before I could delete it.
My question is... is there a command to force delete those folders files
without renaming them?

We're about to impose a quota on certain specific volumes used a home

impose. We have sent out an e-mail to the to-be affected user population,
but we also are experience enough to know that users are, in general,
nitwits, and will ignore the message or misunderstand it, or their dog will
