secure zones
Can anyone confirm this ?
If I'm running AD integrated zones and using secure only updates.
If workstations are renamed by users to names which already have
registrations in DNS ("A" records), these will not be overwritten by
dynamic dns ?
Will be very helpful.
thanks,...

location of DNS zones in in Win 2003 Active Dir issue
I'm a bit confused and hoping that someone can enlighten me. We were looking
at KB 867464 and it talks about using ADSI edit and that in Active Directory
2003 full native mode, Active Directory integrated zones should all be in
DC=DomainDNSZones,DC=contoso,DC=Com. When I look at my AD domain in active
directory I find that naming context but not all of my AD zones are in there.
A bit...

Testing Secondary DNS - nslookup behaviour different across OS?
This is my scenario:
I have primary and secondary DNS servers in a workgroup with no AD and all
seems to be working correctly. For example, zone transfer from primary to
secondary is correct and clients resolve IP addresses. Forward and reverse
nslookup queries from clients work correctly to the primary and secondary DNS
servers.
When I pull the network cable out from the primary DNS, ...

DNS Client Config
I am looking for a white paper that says in plain English that when setting
up DHCP, you don't need to add the ISP's DNS server as a secondary DNS. It
is best to use one of the many internal DNS's, and then use forwarders. I
can't seem to find a document that spells that out. This is in a medium
sized AD environment. ...

Dear all,
our problem is that certain MX/DNS resolutions are not working
properly for
external users trying to send us email.
For example, mail users at yahoo.com are getting rejected when trying

This mail is rejected as the user "123@WWW.example.com" as
not a valid email address.
It appears that YAHOO is resolving our CNAME and although

DNS listening port?
I am reviewing listening ports on my W2K3 SP2 servers. When I run "netstat

Can anyone tell me what this "other" TCP listening port is?
Thanks for the help.
