Problem pinging IP and host names - Server 2003 DNS
I recently found a problem with some clients on my LAN. The clients get addresses from DHCP, they are able to connect to the LAN/work, no problem. But when I attempt to ping their IP or host name both time out. I issue the -a option to resolve addresses to host names, I get -- pinging hostname.X.X (fully qualitied name), shows the IP address, then.... times out. What i did with a few c...

How To Replace a Windows 2003 DNS Server?
We are replacing a Domain Controller that was also a DNS server. We recently converted from BIND to AD-Integrated zones. The problem is, the machine accounts don't have rights to update their own records. We would like to turn on scavenging, but need to make sure that our servers are registering in DNS successfully.
