Renaming DFS file Server
Have a file server at a remote site that, due to an organizational
consolidation, "MUST" be renamed. This server is in an active DFS
replication schema. How much damage will it cause to rename it? Thanks in
advance....

How to move replicated folder to another drive?
Hi,
How do I move a dfs-r replicated folder from one drive to another on the
same file server? It seems that this should be easy to do, but I haven't
been able to find a way to do it. The folder in question resides on a
secondary server, not the primary.
Thanks for any help.

Folder not replicating after removing filter
Hello,
I have a DFS Replication group set up to replicate between 3 servers. This
replication is working fine, for the most part.
A couple of months ago, I entered a filter to exclude a specific folder from
replication. This worked fine. However, I later wanted to include it in the
replication, and removed the filter. It started replicating again between 2
of the servers, but on one ...

Namespace Shares Freezing, Direct Shares work fine.
Hi Everyone,
We have a Hyper-V virtual file server running Win2008 Standard 64bit.
It has one share, that is in dfs (no repl partners) and published to the
domain.
When accessing the share through namespace "\\domainname.com\share", several
users would freeze.
Explorer would just completely freeze and eventually come up after 2 or 3
mins.
This was affecting about 75% of our users an...

ServerC was once promoted to a domain controller but then demoted because
some of the software it needs to run would no longer work.
There is also another server, lets call it ServerD which is an SBS 2003 R2

DFS folder names. That is what seems to be to me but wanted to see if
others had troubles like this and if...
